Hey 30%NitroBoy I agree with you on the similarity of the Tmaxx and the MGT. The decision to go with the .21 was a let down BUT I am still going to find if the weather clears up. It started to drizzle here in Ventura so I won't try it until it dries up. THere are so many fights on what truck is better. I stick to the fact that everyone is going to back their ride up against others. IF you don't you are a pathetic follower!Take pride in your ride but don't make others feel stupid for owning theirs ( or try to derail a thread to make it another debate ).

As for the servo issue I want to get a the digital 5645 but I am limited on funds still!!!

THanks for the post 30%NitroBoy:thumbsup:

Hey bro...no problema, Well said in regards to opinons in the hobby...lmao. Enjoy your truck and be sure to post pics and vids if possible. As for everyone backing their truck.....keep in mind that their's a ton of kids in the hobby and adults that act like children..lol. NOthing wrong with that but you just have to give respect where it's deserved. WHen offering your opinions that might offend others, it's nice if you try to do so in a subjective but intelligent manner.

mgt reliability

two friends of mine bought mgt,s and both are broken. they love them but are always waiting for parts.both have the servo problem I'm reading about, both broke the front bumpers,1 needed a arms the other lost all the drivetrain screws. the trucks seem very brital. my brother in law has a savage 25 my son has a t maxx and i have a rustler 2.5 and we all run together, savage is the most reliable. sorry all u bft lovers but time to go metal and its a $550 upgrade without the servos.

I think that it all depends on the type of driving and the expereince of the driver. I have seen the savagae and the maxx get beat hard and the maxx keeps going cuz the driver is seasoned. don't knock it till you own it Mine is solid

OK today I went bashing with my MGT and let me tell you..I gave it a beating!!! FIrst off I was trying to get the MGT tuned to do some serious wheelies...still trying to figure that one out! Not too sure on how to get the torgue out of the Thunder tiger mill but I am still learning. I finally got the brake issue worked out. So good that I got my MGT to do cartwheels and endos! It sure looked awesome. And just like I said the new tank design prevented the mill from cutting out each and everytime. Well I didn't notice but there is something preventing my steering to work properly. Maybe the batteries or the servo needs to be really replaced NOW!!! I also broke my whole front bumper plus extensions doing a nasty jump off a 4 foot dirt jump. That didn't go so so well since that caused the MGT to cartwheel and do some REAL damage. I could handle the bumper being jacked but when I realized my new problem I called it quits. I realized I cracked my front lower arm AND bent my right CVD. Plus I noticed on the steering one of the screws that hold the bellcrank in place were "missing partially". I saw that the head of the screw broke off but the rest of it still was inside the bellcrank. Guess I should have noticed that one. I am assuming that it back out and something broke what was stickin out. The rest of the MGT seems to be in tact but I will recheck the rest tomorrow. I will try to get some pics of the before and after. Has any of the RCNT members that do have the MGT replaced the steering servo and the steering assembly with something better? I wasn't to know if the 5645MG really will turn those wheels.
Later on for now

why does everyone care about the top speed on a monster truck for anyway? after 30MPH you can't do anything with them but roll them, or slow them down with the brakes. i dont know how you guys run your trucks but mine spends most of its time at about 15-20mph, yeah i can hit some jumps faster than that but thats jsut askin for an early trip home for repairs, and running my t-maxx at full clamp i can usualy only go in a straight line, yeah it looks cool, for the first 2 times maybe. after that top out runs in a MT are boring. (IMO) --peace

i have heard of some people puttin the 645mg on it they said it worked fine i planned on doing the same until i put 40 series velocity on it they turn great

I agree trucks these size really have a high center of gravity and well.. I found that out this last weekend. I think its a matter of opinion though. Some want to really get their trucks going fast but in a race that top speed really is irrellevant due to the fact the straight aways end up in a hairpin switchback!

I am still wanting proof of someone using it

lol i never said i seen i just heard lol

JESUS CHRIST,
I am sick of hearing all these people complaining about how poorly the BFT is. It is a great truck and people are talking bout how on the track it will do better and all. i think that it is 70% driver 30% truck i am sick of people saying it is to slow oh well ther not meant to go fast. i am sick of people bitching about everything every1 has there own oppinion I know that but still people who have never owned the truck or drivin it are bagging on it saying its proned to breaking OH WELL you break it you fix it that is the hobby isnt it?? and breakin is something that is going to happen get over it and it also most of the time cause by user error so stop baggin on the trucks for your stupidity yes i have made mistakes and yes i have broken poop but i just kept it and replaced the parts nothing to it. All trucks are made on the same basis to climb and handle jumps better than anything ther not made for speed or for racing but yes it is FUN to race them its ok to race them just please stop bitching about "speed", "durability" everything is proned to breaking. and all the other stuff u guys bi#$h about

Ok, well next time I look for a new ride I'll just get whatever one has the coolest looking shell. Seriously, who cares about durability? I hope my new ride will break something different everytime I take it out! That way I get to fix it and spend lots of money on it that I really didn't need to because that's the way this hobby is, it's meant for you to get really poop-quality parts that break easy as hell just so you can replace them over and over and over again. Man, I wish Duratrax would make a MT.....
On top of all that, I hope it's slow as frozen dog poop. Come on, who needs anything with any kind of speed? Speed isn't fun, it's just annoying to be able to go fast. It's pointless. The slower the better!
I want a ride that looks sooooo damn pretty breaks all the time and creeps along...but not to fast. As long as it's MY ride, it'll be the best no matter what.

Trigger, take your damn BFT and stick it where the sun don't shine.

you took what i posted in the wrong manner.. i meant that in a way every1 talks about "THEIR" truck as being "THE poop" thers is better than every1 elses thats what i mean i want people to post how fast it goes how durable a truck is that way you get the best bang for your buk yeah i didnt mean for every1 to stop saying the BFT is poopy i meant it in all forms of trucks and cars I just get tired of going into something saying the durability of something and the damn conversation ends up talking about how my T-Maxx is better than your Savage stuff like that if your going to talk about how durable, fast, etc. then talk about how durable the specific truck you are talking about dont venture off into other trucks i didnt mean for you to take that offensively if you did sorry

THis the Monster GT forum and anyone can talk about the MGT in any way they want to BUT this isn't the bitch forum that anyone can come into and make the thread another stupid TMAXX is better or Savage is better. Yeah I think its cool to stand by your truck with pride but to make it another "my truck is better" should really be mad into a nother thread where we all can have fun. This specific thread was meant to spark the interest or lack of interest in the members. I have the MGT and I LOVE THIS TRUCK. It is such a blast to drive. I am totally agreeing with Trigger. Not everyones experience will be the sam as others since most everyone do not drive thier own truck the same or as hard. Some people just read into a post and take it completely the wrong way. Come on fellas we are all family here. We can all bitch but let's start the debates in new forums please! I am really excited about having both my MGT AND MY TMAXX 2.5. I think both of them rock!!

I don't have a MGT....YET, I plan to get one though, hey in reality any MT you get is going to have it's fair share of problems, the T-Maxx more so than the others (LOL, sorry Maxx owners, I couldn't help myself) but really, anyone who owns atleast one or even 2 of different breeds knows this is true, but like Trigger says it is part of what makes this hobby fun, you go out, bash the poop out of your MT, somedays you are lucky and others it's OOPS! I broke something, it happens to us all, even those who have all alloy parts, hit something hard enough and you break or bend a part........so the MGT isn't as fast as a Maxx or Savage, so what, it only has a .21 engine compared to a .25..........I'm sure if someone were to drop in a Picco .26 it would be fast as hell and boast lots of torque.......really though if ya want to start bashing on others it should be taken to the "Free For All", this isn't the place........personally I hope the MGT proves itself to be a very worthy truck, and to those of you that already have one keep all the feed back rolling in, that is what this forum is all about, sharing the info so everyone can have a better time with his or her respective MT!

Funny thing is, Humboldtblazer is the one that started this thread......and post #3 is made by HB also.......OOPS! looks like ya stuck your foot in your mouth:ahem:

I didnt stick poop in my mouth, there - roadrage. Let us examine this shall we?

I am getting one. I will put in my order in less than a week. Hopfully I will be the first on my block to get one. I have been waiting and wanting this truck since I heard of it this spring. Who else is gonna get this truck?

I like the tranny design, along with the rock guard. Another feature I like is the placemnt of the tail pipe behind the engine going width wise of the truck. This way the exhuast sprays behind the truck and you don't get that slippery wheel problem that I had after a few tanks on my T-maxx

Hmmm. These all seem like quality posts, the same as the ones i made in the beginning. I was referring to the whining morons who go on and on about my MT is better than yours.

He is right the MT battle is the worse since Ford vs Chevy. Buggies are probably almost as bad though. I at one time got caught up in the better than mentality but now I understand to each his own. Their all all levels of equipment in this hobby, I for one have expensive tastes and seem to gravitate to high $$ stuff. I am like that in my personal life also. Take me buying a fridge for example, sure I can get the $600 model and it will keep my food cold, or I can by the $800 model and get some features, but I bought the $1400 model because in a year I would be sorry that I didn't but that is the way I am wired. RC's above the radio shack level are expensive anyway you look at it, from kits, to tools, to consumables like fuel and batteries. I wish more people would move on from the mine is better attitude but I understand it because not to far in the past I was right there with em. I think NA feels the same way I do now. We had some sub par equipment and when we got a taste for the expensive stuff we stuck with it. You do get what you pay for with the high end stuff as it usually is night and day better.
