i have been looking at the elec helicopters. the price is low enough that i could get one of the rtf kits like the venom Night Ranger 3D or the E-flight blade cp. but my big worry is how long will batteries run for. i remember with elec cars i had in the past run time was way short, chargers all over the house. how long is the flight times on stock batteries and are there better ones that will last longer.

ps. totaly noob to flight i know lots of crashes/money but any other suggestion much appreciated.

Between 10 and 15 minutes for the Blade CP's and CX's. If you are just hovering and not doing a lot of flying you will get around 15 min. If you are doing a lot beside just hovering you are looking around 10 min. These are my experience's with flight times.

My longest recorded flight on a stock CX pack is 17 minutes, but it's rare. Expect 10-12 as an average.

The CP can vary depending on your packs. I fly commonsenserc.com's 3S (three cell) 1250's. They have the **capabilty** to fly up to 20 minute per pack, but I discovered this is a Bad Idea - the main motor gets way too hot and extended flight not only shortens the life of the motors, it puts a lot of stress on the 4-in-1. I've come off a few flights where the 4-in-1 was pretty hot. So as a rule I on one pack I fly 10, rest five, fly 8-10.
