I need some help. I just spilled some water on my laptop screen, wiped it off right away, but some how, some water got between a layer of sheeting, and I was wondering if it'd be ok to try to dry it out w/ a hair dryer, or will that mess up the screen? (It's just a regular LCD laptop screen, not one of those new HD laptop screens)

Thanks in advance.

what do you mean by sheeting? If you mean the plastic casing, then you should be able to pop it off. Maybe a screw or two. Look behind covers and rubber stoppers to remove all the screws from the display side of the LCD then simply unsnap it.

Dry it out then put it back on.

BTW: I haven't known heat from a hair dryer to mess up any LCD panels, however I wouldn't do it because those are so expensive to replace.

The Way mine is built it goes, LCD screen, thin plastic layer, thicker more durable plastic layer, and the water is inbetween the two platic layers.

You shouldn't have spilled water on it in the first place. Why did you even have food or drink near a laptop?? :D Actually I have spilled liquid on my old comp and used a hair dryer, but that was on the key board.

Well, I've tried using a hair dryer to get the water out, no luck. And, I've managed to pop-off most of the screen housing except the corners. So, if anyone knows how to do this on this laptop (HP Pavilion ze4345us) could you please PM me or w/e, or just if anyone knows of any good PC-forums that would be able to help me out, that'd be greatly appreciated as well.

Here's what my laptop looks like:
