Ok so me and my friend both have 3.3's I've had mine about a month less then him and we both have been useing regulary

a couple of weeks back his exsaust header broke - right at the mount to the motor

now today i get my car out and mineis broke also -

now i know that it wernt broke when i put it away - and no i dident drop it or bang it

how did this happen ?

is it a manufactoring error ?

it broke in a clean circle almost all the way round as did my friends and just seems a bit strange for 2 of them to break after about the same amount of use

I broke 3 or 4 of them. Tried a few things to avoid it, like getting a thicker header o-ring, then making a couple small holes in the header flange and using a spring, but I couldn't get it to fit quite right.

Traxxas now makes a header that uses a spring vs hard mounted to the engine. Or, you can fork out a small fortune for a OS18TM header and pick up a typical header gasket.

Here's traxxas's spring mount header:

And spring/o-ring:

Requires you to buy the thicker o-ring and spring seperate... you'd think for $18, they would throw one in with the header!

I went through at least three headers before I went with the traxxas spring mount header and now I beat the back flip bejesus out of it and so far so good:hehe:
