I could have had a new JR XS3 radio yesterday for $189.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3130266526&category=34063

These radios are supposed to go for almost $300. You can find them all over the place for $239. This auction was a $50 savings.

I'm such a dumbass I should have just bought it.

Also, if any of you are jetstorm24, I have one message for you:

THIS IS YOU ---> :sorry: :sniper: <--- AND THAT IS ME

I almost got one but went with a Hitec lynx 3d full pkg with a extra 140 oz airtronics servo for $1208-0

novicerob - have u ever gone to the LHS and held, fiddled with the controllers on the market? if not- go play with them for a few minutes, i almost bought the jr xr3 but then - after messing with it for a few minutes, thought that it felt kinda cheap - and the screen to read the digital display was hard to see while driving. The lynx3d and airtronics M8 are jus much better in my opinion. Go take a look and really test em out, before u buy one

hmmm, I've heard nothing but good reviews on the xs3. I mean its a synth rx and tx and comes with 2 servos. can't beat that for $200. Those radios that your talking about cost around $400 for synth, not to mention they probably dont come with servos.

pay more get more. Anyways, i am not talking bad about the JR at all. Everyone i know that has one loves it. Just for me - i didnt like the way it felt in my hand - and that is the most imortant thing. Also - the lynx 3d synth version can be had all day long for about 240.00 w/o servos, but if u are replacing a radio - u most likely have servos already anyway.

Then there is the Futaba 3PK.....

:bling:

Yes it is true though, the radio MUST be comfortable in your hands. After all, its supposed to make you feel like you are IN the car. I didnt happen to think the feel of the XS3 was bad at all. But thats just me. To each his own. And as far as the deal goes, poop yeah, that price is awesome! Especially for all you get.

By the time I was done with my Futaba setup with the HiTec spectra module and Novak XXTra synth RX I was easily over 500$

3PK ------- mmmmmmmmm

Thats a sweet xmttr - i looked at it, but just couldnt justify the expense at my skill level, the lynx 3d that i got is perfect for me/

I have the Lynx 3d too and its awesome! There arent THAT many more options on the Futaba, but, it is MUCH easier to program. And even being able to name your RC Car profiles makes it easier to remember which one is which.

The Futaba does come with TX, HRS RX (fastest response out right now) and the HRS module for the TX. You can also get a PPM version. The one single expense downside with the HRS is you MUST run all digital servos.

And they wont tell you that the module from your Lynx 3d works in it, but it does. Thats what I did.

So as far as cost goes the Lynx 3d and the JR XS3 are the best synth values out there right now.
