Hey all, i found that my bandit had difficulties handling at high speed <--(Edit: Yes i know, probably easier to replace the driver :P), i have replaced all the shocks with the upgraded shocks. Plastic replacement kit for front and big bore kit for rear.

My theory is to make the suspension as stiff as possible, for better handling.

I really belive that this will work (its been raining so no test yet) as the suspension is now nice and firm, but not too firm.

I am going to the hobby store to get better springs for rear suspension.

THe car is tuned for 45mph.

Thoughts?

Stiff springs will help you out. Go to some thicker oil, say 50wt. You'll want a slight amount of droop in the rear, just about to where the driveshafts are a little above level. Then I like to have the front stand all the way up under it's own spring compression. Not too crazy, you'll want the suspension to move. This is where the heavier shock oil will come into play. These are opinions; just the way I like my rigs. Your best bet is trial and error. Some others will chime in, too.

THe shock oil i got is 400.... (whatever that means, the guy told me thats the oil to make the shocks stiffer.)

I have movement, but as soon as i take my hand off the car it pops back up (no delay in the shocks going to standard position)

Its been crappy and raining so i am going to get some front bearings and replace.

(when i first got the car i ran it on dirt.... never again it gets way dirty, front bearings sound gritty)

You can get some bearing blaster and blow them out. If your careful, you can actually take bearings apart without the balls rolling all over and clean them to perfection. It's tedious. Then use thin "bearing specific" oil to lube them. Cleaning's a pain, but the dirt's where it's at!

Get some shielded bearings. No matter where you run, they are going to get dirty. onroad/offroad it dont matter.

I only use my Bandit on off-road style conditions. Mind you its not a VXL. Just the stock XL-5 with a Titan 12T, or thats what it had at least. I burnt up the motor.

I never really noticed any handling issues, other than those common to 2WD vehicles. I.E. the back end wants to pull out from behind you if you have no throttle control. Never got mine as fast as a VXL would go though, so that may not be much help to you.
