I'm going to have to disagree with you on the AE shocks. I've been running them for nearly nine months on my T-Maxx. From the gallery, you can see that I put them through all kinds of driving conditions. I have only had to rebuild them once in that time. If they leak, it must be a really, really, really, really slow leak.
The only drawback to purchasing the AE shocks are that you have to build them and the aluminum shock caps are sold as a separate item/hop-up. Other than that, I'll put my AE shocks with Trinity springs up against Big Bores or Dynamites any day (won't challenge the progressive suspension kit...that's a whole different level of shock).
As for spring colors...I agree with X, get the springs that do the job and then use shock socks to get the color you want (not to mention the added benefits that X already did).
