So are the rpm a-arms worth it???? My LHS doesn't stock the 2.5 version so is it worth it to order them off tower for $??+ about $7-8 shipping... also how about the Hitec HS-5645 HiTq servo + proline steering kit??? gonna take me awhile to scrounge up the money but is this stuff worth it???

Yes everything you listed it worth it... Are you running a 2.5 maxx? Also if your lhs is worth a crap they should be able to order anything you want..X

RPM anything is worth it. Their guarantee/warranty program can not be beat.

The HiTec HS-5645MG is a digital servo (about 170 oz-in torque); couple that with the ProLine steering kit, and you have one hardcore steering set up. I'd spend the money on that any day. In fact, I already have two of the servos (one active and one backup for those days that I take my Maxx submarining). All I need is the ProLine Steering set-up and I'm there.

You asked...the answer is all of the above is well worth the money.

Thanx now I need to wait awhile to get the money I also need to add 20 bux for that new traxxas shirt...

like they make one big enough to fit you

Yes those are the right ones.

Look here for your part #'s:

As for the Hitec 5645-MG Digital servo, yes, yes and yes. For the money you can't beat it. I have one in my TMaxx, Savage and Inferno MP 7.5. Its my #1 choice for the money.

The Proline steering kit is kickass too! Just picked one up a couple months back. I havent found anyone yet who DIDNT think it was worth it. Hell, I spent more than that on the GPM aluminum setup and like the Proline better!

Thanx chris

will the shocktowers work too???

are the powerline shocks any good???
got 'em on my wish list

Most powerline stuff is refered to as poop unless its for mini-z because its so small who would know if makes a diffrence..x

Damn... you know of any other shocks that have blue bodies+yellow springs.. I just love that look...

what about the RPM shock tower?? (will it work on 2.5)

u are just obsessed with those things! Just build your own schocks (spell check)

I woud if I could but I can't so I won't..

anybody got some more, helpful input (Besides KK)

Well if you want blue you can get the AE shocks. Which I personally rank AE right up there with Traxxas for being leaking SOB's I recommned the Dynamite set becasue they are acutally losi shocks. Also I recommend running Shock socks helps keep the shafts and seal cleaner which mean longer between rebuilds and if you use them then spring color is irelevant ...X

sounds good to me do you have a link to the dynamites??? and to the shock sox..

(BTW I can't use E-Bay)

are they the ones for the terra crusher?? if they are thats outta my price range just a wee little bit over 200 for shocks Yikes.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on the AE shocks. I've been running them for nearly nine months on my T-Maxx. From the gallery, you can see that I put them through all kinds of driving conditions. I have only had to rebuild them once in that time. If they leak, it must be a really, really, really, really slow leak.

The only drawback to purchasing the AE shocks are that you have to build them and the aluminum shock caps are sold as a separate item/hop-up. Other than that, I'll put my AE shocks with Trinity springs up against Big Bores or Dynamites any day (won't challenge the progressive suspension kit...that's a whole different level of shock).

As for spring colors...I agree with X, get the springs that do the job and then use shock socks to get the color you want (not to mention the added benefits that X already did).

I have used both the AE and the BB shocks and like them both.
The one advantage to the BBs is they are a lot easier to bleed.
The good part about the AEs is they have no diaphragm to split or fold.

IMO the AEs are superior once you learn to set them up properly.

If anyone is interested, there is a mod for the AE cap to help bleed them and you can ad / change the oil without removing them from your truck.

ok sounds good to me I think I have some experience from building shocks.. Mainly from when I had to dissassemble
kornkid's shock with a really bent shaft to straighten the shaft... from what I've got out of it it's fairly simple.. does tower stock the aluminum shock caps too????

ok I know I didn't bleed his shocks.. ( shot anyway) so what is bleeding...

(noob to this) 8-0

When you fill the shocks with oil you need to get as much of the air out of them as possible.

Fill the shock up almost full and slowly pump the shaft in and out.
You will see air bubbles in the oil coming to the top. Let the shock sit until all the air is out. pump the shaft a few more times to be sure.

I hope this isn't making you cop a woodie, its only a shock.

with the TX or BB shocks, fill the shock up to the top with oil.
Make sure you remove and clean the diaphragm form the cap to make sure it is in good condition and has no oil trapped behind it.

Carefully re-seat the diaphragm in the cap with the dome facing out. slowly screw the cap on about 1/8th of a turn.

Here is the tricky part. Hold the shock by the cap and turn the shock body about 1/8th of a turn at a time. You will see air bubbles and oil coming out of the threads this is good. Continue doing this until the cap is tight. It may take several minutes to do each shock.

Once you are don push the shaft in and it should push in all the way and slowly come back out 25-50% of the way. You should also be able to move the shaft in and out without hearing a lot of noise from inside.

There are many other ways to do this same job but I found this to work well for me.

Ill leave the AE shocks for another time.
