Nitro engines = MAX temps range 250 - 270 Deg's No matter what engine I am useing " I use Traxxas & HPI powerplant's in my rig's " each nitro engine co will have " THERE " MAX engine temp's range for "example" Traxxas say's not to exceed 270 deg's with there engines & HPI states 250 is MAX for there engines.. You will have to look @ your engines manual to see what thay state is safe engine temps....

Nitro Fuel's = I run Blue Thunder 20% nitro content is my personal choice
But everyone is different there are alot of choices for Nitro Fuel's out on the market today just to name a few & pretty popular
Traxxas Top Fuel
Odonnell
HPI
VP Fuels "new fuel out but alot of guys that race @ my HS track started using this fuel"
So it's mainly up to you & brand you want to go with...

Any NEW Nitro engine should be properly BROKEN-IN & your manual should state how many full tanks of fuel it will take to acheve proper engine break in...
For example Traxxas states thease are there step's for a new engine break-in
1. Run 1st tank of fuel with all wheels off ground " on a stand " NO THROTTTLE " idle only
2. Tanks 2 - 3 run Veh with 1/4 throttle input's only
3. Tanks 4 - 5 run Veh with 1/2 throttle inputs only
4. Tanks 6 - 7 run Veh with 3/4 throttle inputs only
5. Tank 8 run veh with 3 second's burst Full Throttle
after thouse step's are followed your engine is properly broken in "But IMO I take it easy on my engines until I get 10 -12 tanks of fuel before I really start letting it RIP.
Hope theas tips help you out....

thanks this is very infomative do u have any idea on the cc and top speed ????

Nitro engines are classed buy there size .15 / .18 / 2.5 / 3.3 Example a traxxas 3.3 engine is more powerfull than traxxas 2.5 engine... So CC's IMO are hardly metioned or listed 98% of Nitro co's revert to the size itself "IE" .15 / .18 / 2.5 / 3.3 & So on.... Engine displacment I havent have the slightest clue "but I am shure it's listed somewhere in the manual" & again I MYSELF Go buy the engine size like I stated above.

Top Speed's = Vary example a Traxxas 2.5R engine has a top rated speed of 48 MPH for a 1/10th scale Veh... " & Veh were are talking about is a T-Maxx "
Now drop in a Traxxas 3.3 engine "into a 2 wheel rear drive Rustler" now you looking @ around 55 - MPH " you ask WHY reason being 1. Rig lighter & 2 wheel drive / 2. bigger powerplant / You get the idiea....
