Composing my own and then playing it in the car still stuns me. I've even had a few people ask me what I was listening to because they liked it. No greater pleasure or compliment.
Elton John NEVER wrote a piece of music until he had Bernie Taupin's lyrics to work with. I couldn't believe it when he said that. He needs the mold to fit the music into and can not write off the top of his head.

Wow, I just learned something new about Elton John. That baffles me as well.

Stevie Wonder always wrote the music and melody. He just had a writer come in to add lyrics, is that correct?

I dont want to put you on the spot Ralph but if you ever would like, please post something you've wrote on here, Id love to hear it and I'm sure other music junkies here would also.

I'm planning on picking up a tru-weight (weighted keys, like on a piano) keyboard soon. I really want one, and probably will try and sell off a couple rc's to get one. Found the one i want, for around $700.

I've been playing for 12 years. I've got two fender stratocasters. One of them with the three single pickups and the other has one double and two singles. I also have an older westone than I never use anymore. I have amps out the ying yang.. 3 Marshall heads, four marshall 4x10 cabs ( two slant, two straight) and a jcm series 2x12 cab. A line 6 spider II that I use as a practice rig, which isnt too bad either. I also play bass a little.. kind of stumbled into it when I got a nice ibanez knock off of the fender jazz bass. I ended up buying an ampeg head thats supposed to be equivalent to the svt tube heads and its on top of the 4x10 classic cab and either a fender 15" cabinet with a peavey black widow speaker or one ov my peavy 18" subs.. that are loaded with really wicked JBL subs that have 4" voice coils. It depends on my mood, but it all really sounds awesome = ).

The peavy subs are more for when I DJ and do live sound for bands though.. I've got waaaaaay to much stuff.

I've played guitar for 10 years, self taught. But I just recently sold of all my gear after realizing what little talent I had for it. :-) I think I'll get a acustic guitar again at some point, just to dable a little.

I'd like to get a keyboard at some point and start playing again. Had some lessons when I was a kid and still know how to read music. Only instrument I play now is trumpet, played it since I was 10 so that's actually most of my life. Only recently did I get over the massive hurdle of improv. solos. Something very hard to do when you are your own worst critic.

Been playing for awhile...no talent, but I have a blast with it, so who cares? As far as equipment goes, I'm running an ESP KH-202, a Warmoth telecaster I built last year w/ dual humbuckers, and a First Act POS that I bought for $27 from a clearance sale at an electronics store a couple of years ago. I use the First Act for all my dropped tunings since it's easy to adjust the truss rod. I also have an old 80's Memphis super strat that was my first guitar that I'm rebuilding this winter...gotta have a winter project other than RC! Hehe. I only have one amp, the Roland JC-120, but looking into some others as it's not the greatest when you love gain like I do...thinking a Peavey 6505. I'm looking for a bass amp as well because apparently I hate money...I'm lusting after an Orange combo amp, but I'm thinking a Fender Rumble 350 would be a little better considering I have no talent on bass either...loving it!

Obviously you know you need the weighted keys, or it will throw you off the next time you get on a real piano. Since everything I do is through the boards and a midi sequencer, I'm used to the "touch sensitive" controls, which you don't get on a piano.
I know a girl who's also a classically trained pianist as well as an amazing saxophone player, and she quit playing her keyboard because it was messing her up.

Isn't that where a proctologist goes?

Only fitting...
