This might be long but bare with me
1. Take a regular deck of 52 cards and tell the person to count them.
2. After they count them, ask them how many cards are in a deck, they should say of course 52 cards.
3. Then ask them what is half of 52 and they should say 26.
4. Then hold the deck like you are going to deal a hand and flip 26 cards over counting them 1, 2, 3 and so on. Keep them together.
5. Remember what the 7th card is that you flip but dont make it ovious.
6. After counting out the 26 cards flip them over so you can only see the back and stick them to the side.
7. Then you are going to flip 3 cards over, but 1 at a time. The first card you flip over, say it is a 3, then you take 7 more cards from the deck you are holding so it adds up to ten. Do that 2 more times, if the second card you flip is a 10 then leave it alone cause it is already at ten. If the third card is a ace then count out 9 cards to make it total ten. Make sure you are able to see the first cards you flip, the others you count out to total ten just leave them face down. After that take the rest of the deck that is in your hand and stick them on top of the deck that you sat aside.
8. Then make the person add the 3 cards that is facing up which in this case is 3+10+1=14.
9. Grab the deck that was sat aside and tell the person that what ever the 7th card that you remebered earlier will be the 14th card that you will pull out of the deck that was beside you.
Sorry so long and I hope you can figure my mumbo jumbo out. You can really get people with this. If you do get it to work, try to figure it out, it works everytime, how ever the cards fall.
