I recently purchased this kit for $40 from Great Assembly, and was really impressed with the quality & precision of the CNC work. I'm currently running this setup on my OS .15 CVX Hyper w/19cb & 73t Delrin spur. I am very pleased, and see a big difference in the responsiveness of my Maxx. Engagiing of the clutch is instantaneous, and I have seen no unusual wear or heat discoloration on the cb as many have claimed would happen using Al. shoes. All in all, I believe it to be a great kit, a tad pricey but the guys at GA stand behind there products...

That clutch just looks sweet. If it performs as well as it looks, then you are looking at money well spent.

Damn....read the post and it almost sounded like you were advertising something.

Anyhow, glad you like the clutch kit

Is leading and trailing make a huge differance? I'd think leading would make it have more punch.

Thats a good question! Leading edge with normal clutch shoes = almost instant hook-up but also slams on the shoes. Quicker wear. What i would like to know is whether or not these hold up that well under leading edge engagement. If so, I might want to pick up a set.

Leading-Edge - shoe edge faces engine rotation direction - harder engagement

Trailing-Edge - shoe edge points opposite the engine rotation direction - softer engagement.

I have mine installed for Trailing edge just like the pic on there website. I have'nt tried Leading edge yet.... Hmmmm

I also came across this helpful article for those that are not yet familiar with clutch tuning...

Try the leading edge and see how you like it. Keep an eye on your slipper when you do.

Id really like to know.

I'll definately have to try it out... I'll let ya know....

Perty, Isn't it? lol

I want to try the same clutch. Looks like its been about a month since you got it ImBroken. Hows it working out? Did you try it both leading and trailing edge? I really think I want one but I have read some negative things about aluminum clutch shoes in general and wanted to be sure. Does anyone know of any other 3-shoe clutch that will work on a .15 T-Maxx?

I have'nt had a chance to try the leading edge as of yet, but the trailing edge works great... I didn't see a significant difference between regular & al. clutch shoes though.. The Al. create alot of Al. dust on the chassis as they wear.
