Hey guys,

The weather was nice enough this weekend we were able to work on the track this weekend. Man I was excited. We had a dump truck load of Clay that we used a bobcat to put down and spread out. We fortified and rebuilt the jumps, and added a few more. Then we watered and rolled it, and then came back on Sunday and used a gas tamper to pack the track down. Then we watered and rolled it again. I don't think the track will blue groove on us. We still have a very sandy soil compound this close to the water. The best part is that the LHS is going to keep the track closed for two weeks to let the track age and a chance for the clay to harden. Man I am stoked. I couldn't help to much with the leg and all, but I was able to help a bit and it gave me a chance to talk with some of the guys I haven't seen since last summer. We start club racing in two weeks and the points series doesn't start unil July, but at least we will be able to race soon... hopefully the weather will hold! Take care guys.

Screw everyone!!!! LOL

Just get one of those Kyosho snow tracks... or whatever there called. I have heard those things are sweet! We may have worked on the track, but it was still cold as hell! We should all be mad at Plaid! He gets to race all year long! LOL Just kidding big fish....

Difference is, Ben, your track is on YOUR property! You can wait.

Do you plan to change the plan a little this year?

Tom, what type of racing is your local track designed for? More buggy, or MT/Truggy?

Hey Revo,

Yeah, we have changed the layout a bit. The configuration is still basically the same, we just changed where the jumps are, and added a few. Not wholesale changes but enough to where you need to learn the track again. Keeps folks from getting to good at making laps. The track is offroad and is meant for all types of racing, but it really caters to the 1/8 scale buggies and the 1/10 and 1/8 scale MT's. We run everything though. Electric and nitro 1/10 stadium to even the 1/18 stuff. The track is a bit more rutty though after a few races and the bigger stuff just handles them better. We try to include everyone who wants to race. Pretty cool, I think anyway. In fact next week we have a test and tune day. I hope to make it, if the weather is nice.

Good point RR! We don't have any major changes planned, but we're again hoping to get some clay. We've all put some cash aside for the track this year so if we have to buy it and have it hauled in then so be it!

I heard moose manure works as a good replacement for clay...J/K!

Hope your tracks shape up nice after the spring. I am jealous. No land out here in SoCal suburbia to buld your own.

Tom, easy on that leg. But have fun breaking in that truggy!

I had a track but a renter decided to rent that part of the pasture I had it in, so now theres alot more Horse turd moguls I dont want to deal with. There is a new track that just opened by my place that is pretty decent. I dont know if I'm gonna like going to it though because its ALL traxxas guys who think traxxas is "the bomb" and everything else is junk.. So I think I'm gonna have to relocate to another spot (with less horse poop) to make a new track. (the neighbor has a bobcat so I can whip one up in a couple days.

Sorry to derail, but Monkey thats the best avatar I've seen to date! Goes with your sn and everything!

now.....back to your track talk.

Guy that owns the hobby store in town has been "building" a track for about 4years now.... Goes to show you what kind of lhs I have.
The aircraft club I was in talked about putting a track on that property.
Still no track.
Got one about an hour away. All the stuff I have is basher, but I'd like to try one.

well i have been working on our track for a little over a month and only got the snow off and the drain tyle off but its suppose to be aroung 50 this whole week and tonite and thurs is supose to rain so that will help the rest of the snow (in the pits) to melt off it kinda sux to we have our 1st race sponserd by PROLINE on april 15 and if we dont make it or the weather doesn't let us we could be in trouble its less then 18 days away and i have 3 new mills i have to break in and that doesn't include when my revo 3.3 comes in well i wish i live were it was nice all year long (time to talk to the wife and see if she wants to move where it warm all the time)

Ah, screw 'em Andy! Go out there and show 'em that Traxxas isn't the only game in town!
I've never raced before or even rode on a track (Besides my old one) for that matter, so I'm sure them guys would show me up and think its the Hpi and not the crappy driver. I'm thinking Ill just have to go after hours and get used to the track a little bit. Then show them whats up, or at least hang with them with my meaty savy..lol..

Got any pics??
That's it... I'm drivin up to VB's place this summer for some racin... What's 10hrs..

Definitely taking it easy on the leg. Unfortunately I was not able to do much work because of the leg, but I was able to do some raking and some talking. Thankfully the bobcat did most of the work. I brought the CRT which I think it was a mistake. Everyone wanted to see it and the track manager was telling everyone I had one. Everybody wanting to see it didn't bother me. What bothered me was that everyone thought I was some rich guy. All I kept hearing was... "Man I wish I could afford that" "Wow man you must have some deep pockets" I know they were not making fun of me... but it made me feel that they thought I was better than them, which is not the case. I just laughed it off and told them wait until you see me drive!

Alot of the regular guys did say that the 16 year old with the LSP a.k.a "Daddy's Money" was going to have some competition this year. Which made me feel good. In fact a a couple of weeks ago he was beaten by a CRT. But he said it was because the guy had an O.S. .30 on it and that was why he got beat. Anyway hopefully I will have things broken in by this weekend.

Good luck with the track Andy. I would love to get up north and race ya! I am not much of a racer so this should be fun this year. Take care guys.

Tom I wish I could have been racing all this winter....Wilma tore up the parks and then FEMA took em over and used them for campgrounds for workers.....they JUST OPENED the park to let us in and start fixing the track 2 weeks ago....it was so toren up and washed away they needed to get more clay....I still have yet to get out there......the only other tracks near me are a bit off of my schedule as to when they run......I have 3 within 30 mins of my house...so SCREW ALL YOU GUYS...HAHAHAHAHAH...oh wait I still can't use them, and probably won't be able to race this season due to work....What tha Crap.....

Damn... I hope work isn't that hectic. A man has got to be able to race! That is one advantage to being in South FL.... you are in one of the hotbeds for RC racing and there are lots of not only local events but even a few National events that would be fun to watch or participate in. It sucks that the Cains tore up the track. I hope you guys are able to get things back to normal. I am not a big racer, but I know how fun it is and hope to get better this year. Good luck my friend.
