i am currently in stage 2 of 4 of upgrading my tmaxx. here are some pics of the new bulkheads, shock towers, and air filter i got and tomorrow i will post some of the new chassis i got.

those are hot racing right? Send a pic when they get bent ..........
they are just as bad as intgey parts cast not machined and heavily coated to hide this fact
 
Air filter looks like it's for a 2.5. Less breathing surface then the stock 3.3. Wonder if it makes a difference. It's a shame the aluminum is cast. Run 'em till they fail, then worry about it. I've heard one fellow say he hasn't had a problem with his intengy bulks. He's the only one, though.
 
Ya, looks good, but not sure about the aluminum shock towers. Personally, I would have went with RPM towers.

I'm kinda confused on how the bulks are built. Are they a 3 piece design? Seems like they may be more likely to fail.
 
each bulk has has 2 pieces and as far as the construction they are 6061-T6 aluminum which is the same as new era. and a few people in my area have these and have had no issues. the air filter is actually listed for the revo. also i think the rpm towers are hideous so there is no way i am putting them on my truck.
 
they are 2 piece design to be able to remove the diff without total disassembley there in lies the problem the removable piece is extremely vulnerable in a crash as the screws that hold the removable piece bend and thus are hard if not impossible to remove
 
Ya, that's what I thought. Great concept, but not so good execution IMHO.
 
i have only found one thread about these having an issue and how the guy goes about explaining it seems a bit fishey. also if you get a direct impact on your bulkhead you deserve to break something.
 
I'd rather change stockers then fight bent screws that take the threads out with them. After you get 'em apart, you gotta drill and tap, which removes material and makes them even weaker. I'd rather buy the ones that guys rave about a couple times a day. Gotta go with majority. Stuff costs too much. Take it as a lesson. Ebay 'em, or run them and don't worry until you have to.
 
so in other words if every one jumps off the cliff your going to follow them instead of trying the path?

that thread seems strange. like how do you bend the bulkhead and not the removable piece. also how did the blue part get pushed back when it looks like it was a side impact. another thing he shows a bent pin but does not show what happened to the pin holders so i think that thread is just a joke some one is pulling. from what i saw there isn't any proof that that the bulkhead failed just that he must have done it himself.
 
Don't sweat it. Beat the crap out of them until they break or bend. If they don't, sweet! If they do, try to find some Hardcore Racing, ACNCM bulks, or FLM's.
 
Dude all I am sayin is you get what ya pay for cast stuff is not even close to machined . You think the picture was framed and someone bent it on purpose?? are there any marks from pliers or something. Just because you purchased an unproven item dont attack me NUF SAID:\

i understand every ones idea that more pieces means it will break more and that is true. but unless you say well i reckon my rc can run over that there tree and actually try it then yes they will break. but so will plastic ones. and i did take that into consideration so eventually i am going to get some spring steel skid plates which should dissipate most of the energy that would go to the bulkheads. and i am not attacking anyone but if your going to right away start going on about how bad something is you better finish off with whats good or prepare to get an argument in return. hot racing is a new company and i have only found a small percentage of complaints. and i have been thinking that the screws that support the removable piece are on the weak side so i think i will go to my local blot distributor and pick up some higher grade ones like what supports the adjustable piece on the shock towers.
 
no one is trashing you!! the screw idea is a good one go to ace or comparable and get some stainless hardened steel screws but be aware its not if but when they will fail imho
