Ok I got a picco this is a a really close fit.One thing to do before starting read post freakin hot picco. I had to turn main needle about 7 + out & thin back to factory setting+, & then i found rich setting.

it's just now starting to run good. i'm on tank 8 and holding a good 230 degrees. didn't have to do any modifications. but the break-in was a pain in the butt. trying to keep this thing at a cool temp. a whole bunch of trouble. my os was a whole bunch easier to break in. taking it out tomorrow to open it up.

Did you check the needle assemblies to make sure all the O rings were seated properly? I've heard this has caused some heartaches as well as some of the rubber that should have been trimmed from the rings has broken free in the assemblies causing it to be harder to tune/hold a tune.

no i didn't take the needle all the way out, but there was some excess rubber (oring) hanging out, i'm not really quite sure how to take it out. i've never done that before, but i did get the excess rubber off. i'm scared that if i pull it all the way out that i might have to get new o rings. but i'm not really sure.

They should just unscrew all the way out. Make sure you write down the number of turns they are set at first so you can get it back together where you have it.

I will pull mine out in the morning to be certain. Mines still in the box and I grabbed another one today. Ill post some pics.

1 is not enough? i just pulled the needle all the way out and there was a chunk of rubber hanging around the bottom of the o ring and apparently i got the top part off but not the bottom, i'll try it tomorrow. the needle sits further down in there now.

RIGHT ON :)

I would take them completely out to inspect. Make sure they are seated properly as well. Then just oil them up with some rubber safe oil. After run oil should work fine here or a light light light coat of white lithium grease (ONLY on the O-rings).

I'm glad you made this post.

Anyone who picks up this mill should do the same. The more I think about it, this is a good idea to do with ANY brand new mill you get. Pulling the needles and inspecting the carb only takes a few minutes when you just take it out of the box. That few minutes can save a ton of headaches.

I never have done this on any of my mills but going forward I will. Its just a good piece of mind.

after i removed extra rubber on the bottom of the o ring, the needle set down in there a little bit further, apparently the excess o ring or whatever you want to call it was not letting the o ring seat. took it out today, way too much power!! luckily i was in the grass. dug holes every time i punched it from backflipping. the engine head would dig up the grass. i thought i was gonna rip the roll bar off of it. i think it's time to cut back a little more on the slipper. by the way, after removing that rubber i'm running a nice cool 200-210. i dont think thats to bad considering we have about 90% humidity. and it's about 90-95 degrees out.

Weee I also got my Picco and shocks today (nice looking thing) and I also got my new digital camera so I have taken some pic of the engine and of my savage and posted them at

www.bonetracker.dk/rc

The needle o-rings is very fine but I’ll clean them anyway, have some lubrication for the o-rings and needles on order

:w00t:

LOOKS AWESOME! Smart move on taking the needles out from the get go.... It seems to only be an issue on some, but hey, well worth the few minutes to check it out.

CONGRATS!

where did you get your picco 26 from???

I have been looking for one everywhere???

Any help would be great?

thanks

Ron

Some awesome pics there. On the fourth pic, what kind of under skids are those?Theyre not purple.Did you shoot the factory ones with easy off?

I should be getting my pico i ordered sometimes this week. Can you guys please give me some tips on how to take the needle and carb apart so i can clean it and inspect it for for some rubber shavings:smart:

Yes its the stock skids plates has just acid them with a liquid NaOH solution (natriumhydroxid)
And sealed them with some alu guard oil so the stay as on the picture.

Where I live you can buy some “liquid drain clean” that basically liquid NaOH, that’s what I use

Skela, very nice. I'm diggin the chasis, looks alot stiffer than the stock setup. Good luck with the HB shocks. Mine are nothing but trouble.

Yes thanks :) and so far I haven’t had any trouble with the hb shocks, but I haven’t been out jumping an so on yet, have almost just finish breaking the picco in. but I have seen the threads where you and Christian complained over them. I got them almost at the same time as Christian but I’ll just hope they can hold :)
