I got my Paache Air Brush gun and a crafsmen 3 gallon compressor. I need to know some good place to get paint for a good price. Right now I only have two bottles or createx waterbased blue and orange that I got for x-mas that was purchased a micheals, Also is a moisture trap a need? If so is sears a good location to pick one up?

Thanks can't wait to try this thing out.

Yes, you're gonna want a moisture trap for sure. It will keep excess moisture from being sprayed with you're paint keeping you're paint flow much more consistant. I would imagine Sears would be a fine place to pick one up.

Lessen thanks, Where do you get your paint?

Moisture trap is essential. You can get a decent one at Walmart. I use a Campbell/ Hausfeld inline trap that I permanently mounted to my airbrush hose. It just plugs into the air line. You can find all the fittings at Walmart or a hardware store. Just remember to use teflon tape on the threads.
Createx water based is essentially the same as Faskolor so that's cool to use. Michael's. AC Moore. Any good craft store. They also make auto paints but I don't remember the name. They work well too. Otherwise you'll have to go to the LHS to see what they have. If you're looking for Alclad or Spaz Stix or special polycarbonate paints like that, you'll probably have to LHS or order them.

Thanks guys. This will be fun. I'm sure with in a few day's I will be painting the side of the house!

You do know that by RCNT law you HAVE to post pictures when you're done, don't you?

its fun until you have to clean it, its the worst LOL. i prefer newspaper now because i can just throw it away and my father wont scream @ me. you could also add some Bonds All (its a createx product) to the createx for added bonding power.. it helps alot! Faskolor is createx with alot of bonds all. and createx has a much wider variety of colors.

I picked yo my moisture trap/filter for 20 bucks at home depot its made by husky.

What brand of oil does everyone use? My manual says to use non-degerent oil, not motor oil.

Damn I'm a n00b

Well I either need a reducer or a new moisture trap so it will fit.

Mayhem, I don't know if your compressor has a pressure regulator or not. If it does not you will definately want to add one. As far as the moisture trap, just go to home depot they have a good selection of threaded brass reducers, they should definately have the size you need.

I got everything I need and I am just spraying paper and crap. Thinking of a scheme. I picked up 3 8 oz. bottles of createx for 3.35 a pop. Ill post when I do my first body, I'm sure its gonna be gross looking.

The cheapest I could find was tower and they had the 1oz. pactra for 2.99 for most colors. My LHS has the same ones for $3.99 so I just get it from them cuz with the shipping and the wait, it comes even/cheaper. I just got the pactra color change blue and color change purple and there kick ass! Try em out!! Ill post up some pics of mine once I get holes drilled and the grille stickers and stuff applied.

When your done spraying make sure you clean your airbrush very well they clog up very easy and its difficult to clean it after the paint dries up. I know from exsperiance :)

Good luck on the body, post pics I'm sure you will do a good job just take your time!!and I like to start by spraying somthing like a pop can to make sure the airbrush is clean and spraying a real nice even spray before I start on what ever I'm painting that way any accident in the begining are not on your project.
