Well, Santa Brown came this afternoon. I got my REVO that I won in the lottery ... WOOOOHOOOOO, Thank you RCNT!

I also got the 2 bodies that I ordered from RushR/C ... Thanks Bruce. Everything was packaged in one box and no damage or mishandeling of the box was apparent. Tony, my UPS driver, takes care of us!

Gotta love this site. Only took 2 years of entering lotteries to win ... But the info I got from the other members when I was a noob really helped me through a lot and that itself is worth more than its weight in gold. Thanks WoodiE and RCNT!

I'll be doing that, taking out the stock radio/receiver and putting in the RB TM323. Who knows what else will be done, but at the very least ... the radio has got to go!

What a coincident! I just put a TM323 in while ago (on 10 tanks now). I do not like the pipe that came with RB so my old Hi-flo Trinity (used to run that with .18tm) went back in. I need go out to retune it again and going to byron 30% pretty soon. Don't get wrong, I still like .18tm and I am saving it for race. We have a track opening soon end of this month or next month.. who knows.

You not likey the TQ3? LMAO

That reminds me to pick up some medium plug.

Have fun man.

actually the RB warps the chassis and then starts stripping spurs. our local fast guy runs a .18tm and its more than enough, a tz would give you a little more. i belive new era was making a brace to solve the flexing issue, it may be out by now.

Do you have a link for that brace? You know .. gotta be prepared.

I'm gonna get myself in trouble with this Revo, I can just feel it! I was thinking of sticking a spectrum receiver in it and running it off my other radio but I also have the JR XS3 just sitting here. I may use that as well. OH, I dunno ... anything is better than that TQ3!

Sweet! Yeah, I glad it went to someone who well deserved it! Looks pretty sweet, to clean though...hehe.. What bodies did ya get for it?

Cool man! I like the Yellow ones the best! Congrats again and glad you got it all ok!

Thanks
Bruce

Only have one body for it, Uellow .... my favorite color! The bodies that came with the package are for my serpent. Bruce just sent everything in one package.

Hey, that's great news Diver. Once you drive a Revo, that's all you will want to drive for off road.

If you plan to race, you might want to skip the RB 323, unless you have a delicate hand for the throttle. I love my 323, but I don't race my Revo. I also have never had any issues with the spur gear stripping since I got mine. I did take the little washers out that were between the motor mount and the engine portion of the mount so that there was more solid contact between the two mounts. If my spur did strip, I'd just go get the RRP.

Yeah, get your Spekturm or at least your other radio in that thing. It has a lot of potential, and a good radio wakes it up some.

Well, I got her broken in today. Ditched the stock rx/tx and stuck in my JR XS3 and futaba failsafe. BTW, the stock radio equipment is up for sale!

Revo Rancher, if I were to get the TM323 or even the OS 18TZ, what's good with the XS3 is that I can set the exponential on the throttle to compensate for the twitchiness and sensitivity of the throttle response. I don't know by how much, but I'm sure it'll help a bit. I wanted to stick it on my spectrum but I already had an extra receiver here for my XS3 and really didn't want to drive back to the LHS to get anotherone. I wanted to run it right away! lol.

Well, the break-in went smoothly and was up and running by the end of the evening. Already took it out for a cartwheel and it survived ... lol. All I am doing now is final tuning for performance and trying to get the 2 speed shifting where I want it to. Tomorrow, I'll take it to the park and get a nice shift out of it as well as beat the snot out of it!

Man that thing looks sweet.
If i thought it was as tough as the savage.. (let me know what you think)... I might sell the hpi and get another traxxas!!

the MGT stays with me though... haha

That looks nice...I would probably have a revo had it been out when I got my savage....

Damn....did I just say I wouldn't mind owning a traxxas product? No offense to you traxxas guys.

Well, the arms need to be changed. Kinda flimsy from what I've seen but if you saw the cartwheel I took, you might think twice. The design of the suspension is definitely made for a racing enviornment. I may lower the stance a little bit tomorrow but who knows. It's still early in the game but the gears are already turning! I'm gonna get in trouble, I already know it!

Diver, the arms are less of a weak link than they appear, unless you bash a lot. The shock ends are the biggest weak link. If you lower the rig, try the stiffer springs that came with the RTR kit. You will be pleasantly surprised ho well it handles. I keep mine fairly low all the time, with the rear just a bit lower than the front. Also, open up the stock body any where you can/want. The body tends to block adequate air flow.

Glad to see your enjoying it! I agree with Rancher on the arms. I have been jumping/cartwheeling with nothing broken. I'm talking about stuff that trashed the arms, bulks, shock towes on my S-Maxx. If you plan on keeping the 2.5r I highly recommend getting a motor saver filter and the Trinity pipe for it. I just put those on mine and it's like a different truck. The gain in the low to mid range power is awesome! I have the long travel rockers and medium springs (very soft ride) and it's still lifting the front end, before it had to hit a bump just right to wheelie. Also you don't loose any top end, it just gets there faster.

Almost forgot...It's a lot louder too. I don't have to worry about neighbors so louder is better

Well, again ... you guys are correct. 1/2 gallon and 2 hrs later, no cracks or damage other than a few scratches on the arms!

I lowered the suspension last night and put on the stiffer springs (before RR told me too) and was pleasantly surprised this afternoon with the way she handled. At first, I completely forgot to redo the toe and camber, but I reset it accordingly. After that, she was a dream! Only problem is ... she never shifted! Never has, since breakin was done. I have 1/2 gallon of 30% run through her and have been fiddling with the shift settings and I think I fudged something up.

How many turns out is stock for the 2 speed? I just need to get a good baseline so I can undo what I fudged already. I just hope I don't have to rip into the 2speed to check if anything is sticking or binding to keep it from shifting OR going directly into second gear.

BTW, this engine is "nice" for what she's worth but will be taken out very soon. I'll keep it for when the newbies want to give it a try. I'll just get another clutch and flywheel assembly.

I also noticed something. I was going to change the glow plug earlier and "tracks ass" makes it so that the ignitor wire won't slip onto any other plug but their own! Shoot, I'm just gonna keep using my ignitor.
