Got a T-Maxx

After test driving the Maxx yesterday I am still deciding if I should take it. Is it normal for it to shudder on pullof as if it is hunting for gears? . It is the Maxx 2.5 pro! My Academy ST is faster and better at handling in the dirt. I like the Maxx because of the drivetrain and suspension. You can only drive the Maxx at high speeds. To me it is too under powered for its weight. What is the benifit from a FOC. Is there a .21 conversion available?

If you install the FOC the shuddering will go away, which is one benefit of a FOC. Another benefit is you will get better acceleration, lose a lot of extra weight in the tranny. Yes, there is a .21 conversion for the T-Maxx. XTM Racing and Hardcore Racing make kits, there are several other companies that make them also.

Once the T-Maxx is properly broken in, that shuddering will also go away. The FOC does everything that big kal mentioned. I have a T-Maxx without an FOC and it doesn't shudder or hesitate off the line.

The shuddering is just the new guts of the tranny breaking in. Once you've run a few tanks through it, the shuddering should go away.

First off lower the shocks to the outer most holes on your lower arms. This will give your maxx a much wider more aggressive stance and it wont want to flip as much in the turns. Your dealing with a much higher center of gravity than your ST. Also I will echo these guys do you really need reverse? It hinder performace by more than you would think and for $10 the FOC is a great upgrade.
