My 7 year old son has decided he has outgrown his stampede and wanted a T-Maxx. Well I lucked in to one, well about 80% of one for just the cost of shipping. When it arrived the entire truck was completely disassembled and stuffed in to many baggies. As my son and I started putting it together I was actually pleasantly surprised of the condition of everything, and how much of it was actually there, including a 2.5 mill, complete from clutchbell to easy start, as well as a brand new stock lid (anyone have a decal set, lol). I'll need to pick up some driveshafts, turnbuckles, and shocks, and just a few other small misc pieces here and there to finish it for him. And I also still need to reassemble the tranny and diffs. My son was so excited as we unpacked it and began assembling it last night. Heres a few pics of the mostly re-assembled truck and a few more baggies of parts.

Since your "building" it, it might be a good idea to do a few little things to make it a little better. A friend of mine is always disappointed in his maxx... he doesn't have any $, but still wants to be in the hobby. IMO, that's a bad way to be in this hobby. It takes some dough and time to have fun.

Anyway, just from seeing his in stock form, I'd suggest throwing some 4x6mm bearings in the steering posts. I forgot how bad the linkage chewed up the servo power in stock form.

Already planned on doing that. This aint my first rodeo with a Maxx, lol. I still have my original maxx, for many years now, and it has about two traxxas parts left on it. I am NOT dumping a wad of cash in this one.

I havent fired it up yet, it seems to have good compression and appears physically to be in very good shape, but if the 2.5 runs good it will stay until it blows up. I would like to pull the easy start crap off of it though and get a pull start for it.

And yeah Maxxes definately like the $$$, LOL.

I have something for your project.

You have mail.

What all yall lack havin it complete? I have a bunch of maxx stuff and considerin its for a young un, I think some charity might come into fact.

Hey joneser4u, at this point I am not lacking too much. The biggest item I still need is a set of shocks, I also still need some diff gears (1 set of spiders with the shaft), some of the tranny gears, I'm not exactly sure just which ones, but I need a foc for sure, and a tq 2 or 3 receiver, and a receiver box. Oh yeah, and I'm missing a few of the steering bellcrank parts (just the two spacers) but I could probably fabricate some if need be. Other than that I think I pretty much have rounded up everything else I need. Shoot me a pm if ya have anything and I'm sure we could work something out. Thanks for your offer!

I almost forgot, I also need a complet set of turnbuckles, front and rear, 2.5 length.

I've got a TQ3 tx/rx that I'd let you have for next to nothing. Need to get rid of both though or I'll be stuck with the tx for forever. PM me if interested.

Wish my dad got me one of these when I was 7... I had to wait until I was 25!!!

LMAO, now that's funny! He actually already enjoys wrenching with me on his truck, and I love the time I get to spend with him, in a hobby I already enjoy so much this just makes it that much better. He has been running cars and trucks with me since he was about 3. I started him off with a Stampede which will now to go my youngest son who is just about to turn 3. But the older one already spelled it out for him in no uncertain terms..."AFTER Dad finishes my Maxx I will give you my Stamped, AFTER" lol.

Habitforming, my parents got me those cheap Radio Shack and Nikkos when I was a kid, I didnt get my first RC till I was about 30, I never would have dreamed of having a $400 rc car when I was 7 LOL.
