wha would be a good motor that has alot of power and torqe for a savage x

thats the motor i have on it and i am breaking gears but i dont have that pipe on it i have one from hpi its for rpms its all ribbed on the pipe

Loose the Ribbed pipe, it's not a true tuned pipe. Check out the Hotbodies pipes and THS pipes for the Savage. Dynamite makes a few pipes for the LST that will work for the Savage but you still need a one piece header to fit it properly. The 086 would be the best but it is not a bolt on pipe, it's a left hand exhaust for truggies and buggies. It all depends on how much effort you want to put in to making it work. I recommned the Dynamite Platinum 086, it's the most durable lightest version of the pipe. A nice hard anno. finish too.
That ribbed pipe is not a upper RPM pipe, it makes a butload of torque from bottom to mid, then it falls flat on it's face. No upper rpm power.

my buddy just game me a pipe for the savage that looks like the 086 pipe so i am going to try that out and see how it works because he did not have a big block to use it on

i have never heard of that one before

i have never heard of that motor before

are the 086 pipe for big blocks because i know someone that has one and he thinks its for a small block

The EFRA 9886 Novarossi pipe which is what all 086 pipes are based off of was originally designed for big block engines.

the lrp30 is an excellent motor its insane

i have never heard of that one before

i have never heard of that motor before

I have the LRP28S3 which is also a wheelie monster in the savage. Especially with a 3 speed trans. The 30 is more than likely replacing the 28 and the 28 has more than enough power for most people. LIkes to drink the juice though.

I'm not sure how guys run larger/more powerful engines than the LRP28 in their savages. I had a hard time getting the right gearing to keep the slipper from slipping when it's pretty much fully locked down. Would be fine for a few minutes, but would start slipping when I really leaned on it or ran in grass at all. That was just during break-in of the LRP28! I had to drop a tooth on the CB and go up a couple on the spur to drop the torque transfer enough so the truck would go vs cause the slipper to slip. Kind of cool to see it pull a wheelie when I hit 3rd gear though... usually ends in a nasty cartwheeling affair across the lawn. :radio:

With the LRP30... that won't be much easier!
