Need few more details, weight, pic of entire car and you can fit anything, just like a car the only limit is time and money. From a glance you could modify that brace at the back of the motor (forward or backwards depending) and clear up any room needed for a motor. This can be done by 3D printing new brace, plastic welding etc. I’m not knowledgeable on exceed but a 4-6s system is a substantial amount of power and fitment is a one time simple fix, handling it could potentially cost as much as another RTR 4-6s

Running on a 4s rn

That looks like another variation of the Acne buggy. Hobbyking sold it for a while as the BZ888. With that motor mount, and location, you are limited to a 3670 max motor size.

Easiest would be to pick up a goolRC motor, 3670 size in a 2000-2500kv flavor.(lower for 6s) If he wants to run 6s, the BLX185 ESC would work for cheap ($50 on ebay)

Better motor than that watch a goolrc motor that blew up and did last a week good motor for at least a 70 to 90$

Ok I was wrong on 2 things, pictured the motor on the back like a 2wd ecx, and I was thinking like Walmart comes with action figure exceed lol. Idk the brand but I dropped below motor and esc ($85 to my door) in my kids ecx as a trial, worked great lol ran my 3.8” trenchers on a little 1/10 amp at 6s thru it. Honestly from the pics that looks of decent quality too. I agree with J-Rig having run a 3670.

Another option. Go to HobbyKing, to their spare parts section for the cars. Look for a motor mount for either the bz-888, or the Berserker truggy. There is a good chance those motor mounts will fit your mad fire. If you use those motor mounts, you can fit a larger-diameter motor, which will give you a lot more power.
