good engine

What are your opinion on a good .18 side exhaust engine and pipe?

That might be a tall order to fill. I do not know many side exhaust .18 engines. In fact, I am having a hard time finding one to refer you to.

Well, there's the Epic 18 and the orion 18 and I believe the new OS 18 are all side exhaust.

From what I've read, the Epic is a powerful engine. I have the orion wasp 18 in my SportMaxx. It's not bad, but it could be a little stronger. As for the OS 18, I don't know. I do know that my LHS guy (good guy) had installed it on a xxx-nt just to see how it was. He said that even during break-in, it was wheelying so much he couldn't drive the thing.

Epic's nice, I have it and it runs strong in my T-maxx. But, all O.S. engines seems to be really nice.

Boy, your sure full of piss and vinager tonight...

Besides, he said 18 and side exhaust. There aren't any top of the line ones that I know of. But I would probably drop my $ down on any of these without much doubt.

I really read up on the epic for a couple months, but when it came time to buy, I found the orion for $90 at tower. $90... $150... $90... $150... It just came down to what I was trying to do. Build a cheap maxx that had enough power to carry itself around well. The Orion did just that.

I'm sure the Epic would have done it better though.

The New OS Max .18 is a good engine .......... i have it in my T-Maxx i was just gitten' it tune casue i broke it in @ 4 turns out when it should have been 2 so i worked my way all the way down from 4 turns and i finaly hit the throttle and it flipped over backwords and stalled casue the idle was 2 low and i got it bak up and tried 2 run it but it strippen ALL THE TEETH ON MY 70 TOOTH SPUR GEAR........i check the gear-mesh and it was fine could there be any other casue the this wonderful disapointing accident ??? Other than that it is a very strong fast engine and if u go 2 a small new LHS and u kno thew owner u can get this egine for 150$$$ (no tax)

xxbanditxx the engine that comes with the tnx is the same as the o.s 18 and i saw one of them run it is quick you got a tnx? ill buy the stock engine from you?

hpi 18 ss 1.5 hp. runs 46 mph in a buggy.

no i do not have the tnx yet. I was thinking of getting it because where i rasce the track is small so a small block would be perfect. I am not happy with traxxas.So I'm just looking at what all i need to get it racing and winnig. Also what about a good side exhaust pipe?
