  1. Bashing
I want to go brushless on my T100/RC18T. Been looking at the Castle Creations line up.. Mostly the Mamba Micro.. The guy at my LHS tried selling me the Sidewinder micro.. I'm new to the whole electric thing, so I'm looking for some help... The truck weighs just about NOTHING.. And I've got enough parts to rebuild this thing 100 times... lol.. I'm going to be running 6 cell NiMh. No lipo yet, considering that I have 7 batteries. Looking to get one of the Motor/ESC combos. Any suggestions?? Mostly bashing (lol that's an understatement, more like brutally beating this thing)

HELP?

I really liked the 6800kv and 5400kv in the mamba series.

Make sure your geared right or you'll ruin your battery packs.

gearing will ruin batt packs??? how so? if anything, i would think it would burn motors out.

this might be a stupid question, but what is the Kv rating for? speed?

The KV rating is The kv multiplied by the voltage to equil RPMS.

So if you get the 5,400kv, and a 6cell 7.2 volts, the motor will spin:
5400 x 7.2 = 38,880 RPMS which is perfect.

I have the sidewinder setup in mine, and i love it.

brushless

there is a guy not to far from me running a mamba system in his and its been clocked BY POLICE RADAR at 105 MPH no BS!!!! thats smokin for that little truck!

105?? it must be so uncontrollable its not funny.. full throttle on mine and a twitch on the steering will send it rolling violently... and full throttle is about 25-30 mph...

I have a 5700 brushless running a 3s lipo, and it will do 45-50 tops. So 105, your full of crap. No one on here will ever believe it.

lol he put it in his 1:1 car and did 105.

I've been looking around... just about settled on the mamba micro 8000kv.. I think its way overkill, but for the price it can't be turned down. 119 on ebay.. My LHS has the sidewinder micro 6500kv setup for 103.. can some steer me in a better way if there is one?

I would stay with the 6800 or lower. I had a Mamba Micro Pro 8000 in my MLST and it was fast, but I could not get it geared low enough for my needs. I have put the 8000 on my Mini-T and put a 5000kv in my MLST and love it. It is much slower, but much more suited for this truck. The good news is I can get my speed back by going to 3s lipo.

i have the 8000kv in my rc 18t and I'm about too downgrade motors that thing is just to fast, trying to get it up to full throttle takes me almost 25 to 30 yards and by the time I'm there its time to slow down or risk losing it to interferance

I'm not looking so much for top speed, but more for punch and acceleration.. I went to the skate park here in town and had a blast! Need more quick climbing speed for the jumps.

I think lipo is a waste when you have 7 brand new batteries that came with the truck. and dangerous! the 7 6-cell NiMh 1100mah batteries do just fine. just need a better charger. I'm looking for a motor/esc upgrade

Y do you say they are dangerous? Nicd/nimh are dangerous. I've seen more of them explode than lipos.
