Go Howard Stern! Tell it like it is...

Stern got his big following in the early days only because people tuned him in to see what he'd say next. He made a point of being controversial. Back then, radio and TV were squeaky clean, compared to what we get today. I didn't like him back then, and listened to Don Imus (Imus in the morning).

By today's standards, Stern is a dreadfully boring old has been, trying to stay on top with the same lame crap all the time. People aren't shocked by anything they see or hear any more, and girls getting undressed on radio, or blurred out on TV is no big deal. Different faces, same lame questions and comments.

I find it hard to believe that he's still on the air. What an intolerable bore.

I still have his album 10,000 hamburgers to go.

I like his readings of Billy Soul Hargus.

He started out like this:
This is Billy Soul Hargus, I'm here on behalf of the the First Church Of The Good And Discount House Of Worship.
Today and Today only you can make a blessing pledge of $5.00 for only $3.98 and receive the full amount of credit "With Him" - Say Hallelujah.

Other than that I think hes a Pompous Jackass flying around in his leased Leer Jets.

Imus in his early days was brilliant. Look at him today, just another aging broadcaster on MSNBC. He's not a comic anymore, but like everyone else, he's mellowed with age. When he was in his heyday he was also a coker and an alcoholic. He's now become a decent family man with a ranch in New Mexico for kids with cancer.
Stern always was, and still is, a boring dumbass.

To quote Billy Sol Hargus, "If you are cornfused, say ah aim!"

I AM!!!

Did you hear what Stern is going attempt to do? he is going to make DVD's of his shows, totally uncut and rent them for something like $5 each and sell them. He was talking about making it even a weekly/monthly thing. For like 20 bucks a month you'd receive a Stern uncut DVD every week.

I listen to Stern daily, he's a funny guy but drags on with alot of things. I really enjoy Artie Lang, that guy kills me. We're all going to see him at a local nightclub in a few weeks!!!!

When it comes to all of this, I think it's all BS. Don't tell me what i can't hear. Don't let government do a parents job. To anyone that worries about the kids when they talk about Stern or anyone else, I have a tip, become a better parent.

I enjoy his show everyday from start to finish. I don't need to be protected, i need our country to grow some balls.

:) Imus lives on a friggin' ranch that he takes donations to help pay for while he uses it for cancer kids under 10 weeks a year. those ten weeks he uses the kids as slave labor.

I can't wait until someone investigates that whole deal.

Hmmmmmm

We don't want the Govt. to tell us what we can and cannot listen to/watch.

Yet we want them to take 30+% of our income in our best interest?

Priceless.

Mr T....politically incorrect

I agree with both sides on this one. I like Stern and I get a kick out of his sense of humor. But the laws about what you can do on broadcast media have been in place forever. A person who commits armed robbery can't complane about being prosecuted, because everyone knows armed robbery is illegal. Stern is redirecting the point of his legal problems away from breaking a known law and turning it into a political crusade.

I see this a bit different than armed robbery. You can turn the radio or TV off as apposed to being robed. The issue I have is selective enforcement. The FCC has rules not laws. The issue here is that a federal agency has rules that are in direct conflict with our constitutional rights as Americans. The people who get appointed to enforce these rules usually follow the political climate set by the group that appointed them or that is in control of their job security. This results in selective enforcement.

I agree with EVERYONE'S opinions here. First Amendment rights, or the right to turn it off.
I especially agree with whoever said Stern is a dreadfully boring old has been.

i would have to say as a 17 year old who discovered howard stern like last year...

parents who keep a semi close leash on their kids. the kids could probly never hear him easily.

secondly. he is on in the morning you kids are in school. or getting driven to school. where is the radio? he isnt a problem to anyone..

and alot of people actually like his jokes.
