It's time to double my crawler inventory. I'm planning to start on it this weekend.

Those plastic balls are at least the kind that has a screw through them. Gonna be a fun build to watch.
Yeah, and lots to do before I get to the links, so...
Rear axle done...

I'll be 'at work' Sunday & Monday, and likely the only soul in the building other than a few security guards.... so it's on! :hehe:

Transmission is up next.

I want to build one of those so bad! I would pull the trigger if I knew there were hardened diff gear options available for it but I keep hearing mixed things about which Axial gears fit the axles. If I knew for sure, it’d be a done deal!

Can’t wait to see the build progress!

Well... ok @Doom! you win!

Our family had a get together today for my middle son's birthday, and at the end of it all, the Spider went home with my 16yo grandson.
:joyful:
He took a liking to the kit right away, and I (somewhat foolishly) told him if he would finish it, he could have it. He took the deal... the little $%#!

You need me to finish that Tekno kit let me know 😉

I need you to finish YOUR Tekno kit... you know? :hehe:
It has already seen action 😉

Last thing is painting the body, and the paint will be flying in the next few days 😊

OK

@Doom! it's back on.... Grandson came by today and returned the Spider.... said he just doesn't have time for it between school and work (part time at Whataburger). I told him he should be chasing girls in his spare time anyway!

Didn't get pics of the whole build process, mostly because my fingers were slathered with Red&Tacky for the whole of the 2-speed transmission build. and I didn't want my phone to be as well. The assembly went smooth (and no lost e-clips), so here's a picture of the finished part. The motor uses a bayonet-type mount with one screw to secure it.
