I use a dubro ez start ignitor it has a glow plug indicator that lets you know if it's good or bad. There all pretty decent and work just fine. I would recommend the rechargable one's though.

Thanks for the advice,
my virus 2 came with a standard ansmann glow starter doesn't hold charge for long at all

I don't charge mine but about every third time I go play and I run a few hours at a time when go. It does pretty good.

It has seen more RC engines over the years than most do.... when i had my t maxx it lasted over 4 engines.. then stopped rc for a year then got my jato 3.3 and its been starting that thing for 2 years and now its starting my savage when ever i wanna drive. i can go even weeks with out charging and it just has power. I bought this just to have a second igniter and it doesn't last nearly as long as my older one.http://www.ebay.com/itm/RDLogics-Gl...Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item484300ee5a
