How can I tell if my glow plug is going bad? I run my buggy for 1/2 tank and it will just die out of nowhere I don't know if its the plug or something else.
any ideas?

what ENgine and settings? what buggytoo? what fuel are you running?

i have a hyper 7 pcr. its a hyper 8 port with a rb carb. i've been running the settings for a few weeks now and yesterday it would just die out of nowhere.

have you tuned for temperature and huimidity?

my temps are between 225 - 235. the humidity hasn't been a factor the past few weeks thats why i haven't changed anything. its just puzzling.

Take the plug out and put it in your glow igniter. If the filament glows bright orange right up the the last coil then the plug is OK.

Does your engine cut suddenly only at idle or is it a part/full throttle?

Does your throttle servo centre itself properly?

Check the return spring tension on your throttle control rod. Your carb slide should be hard against the idle stop when the throttle servo is in the neutral position.

Set your idle stop screw so that you have a decent idle speed when the brakes are full on.

it cuts off at partial/full throttle. it idol is fine and so is the servo its freakin wierd. i'm just going to change the plug and see what happens

Sounds like your best bet... I've had plugs do that. It runs ok for a little bit, but once it warms up and I start giving the gas, it sputters and chokes. So I try to lean it or richen it depending on how it sputters and chokes. Usually now, I just swap the plug first. I keep a good one on my wrench at all times just for this.

yep i'd say just change the plug, and go from there, then if it still does it then trouble shoot from there

Dynamite makes a meter for them that tests them to see if there black i invested in one of those
