i have a 3.3 it has about a gallon on it. the G/P is leaking what looks like feul.Is it striped out? dont know.:

What I would do would be to look down at the threads of teh cooling head and see if they are striped. If they are I guess your going to need to buy a new cooling head.

While I don't have first hand experience with the 3.3, on most nitro engines the cooling head and the actual engine head where the plug threads in are two seperate pieces. It's possible that you stripped the engine head, how tight did you tighten the glow plug? I usually just spin my plug wrench down finger tight, then just snug the plug maybe 1/16 of a turn or so. Remember you are threading into aluminum so it's soft and easy to over do it.

on the 3.3 the glow plug screws in to the cooling head. I'm going to check tonite when i get home to see if the treads are striped. Can i retap the treads? or would that mess it up worse?

Once you strip out the threads on the head you gotta get a new one, i did the same thing on my 2.5... Do you have the brass gasket on the plug? If that's not there that might be the problem.

the gasket is in place and it sucks. i dont want to spend 45 on a new head. just bought the truck.

eBay is your friend ;)[/QUOTE]

YES IT IS. thank you so much.:D

When you tighten down your GP, does it feel like it's tightening? Do the threads in the head look marr'd up? Could just need to clean off the contact area where the GP washer seals against the head. To do that, I normally just take out the GP, hold the engine/vehicle upside down, put some DA on a q-tip and smear it around up there to clean it out. Wouldn't hurt to make sure the washer is clean as well. Don't get DA on the filiment in the GP. I don't know if it will hurt it or not.

did that last nite. it looked like it helped. but it raining today so i'll have to wiat to find out forsure. hope its fixed.
