glow plug ignitor

well i have a tower hobbies standeard glow plug ignitor and i got these plugs from my hobby shop http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCKB5&P=0 and my ignitor would not twist on to em and i can't figure out y and also if the engine is running rich would that make the glow plug ignitor to blow up?

Would not "twist" onto them? Hmmm...perhaps your standard glo ignitor is not standard at all. Do you have a link or image of it? Perhaps it is just a really snug fit. I have had that happen before.

As for making a glo ignitor blow up, that is an interesting dilemma. No, the engine's running condition can not make the glo ignitor blow up...UNLESS...the engine is already like super nova hot. In which case the glo ignitor blowing up would be the least of your concerns.

Did your glo ignitor blow up?

umm yea it did blow up and ya its a twist cuz wen i take the plug out and connect it to the ignitor it fits and works but its a real B@## wen ur trying it on the car lol its this ignitor http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLN90&P=0

Try putting your ignitor on the glowplug and slightly pulling up until you feel a lock.
Judging from the glowplug pic, it looks like you have another "hex" below where the ignitor could lock. Maybe to help on glowplug installation as the plug would be less loose in the wrench with the additional hex surface.



Also, what exactly do you mean by " glow plug ignitor to blow up" ?

My tower one did the same thing. Your just gonna have to hold it on there unless ya get something else. I personally would suggest something else. If ya do a seacrh you should be able to find my old thread about mine. I had it in my pit box and the casing on the glow ignitor split open and must have started a small fire because I had a charcoaly black spot in the middle of my box. Tower sent me a new Hot shot 2 as a replacement. (Cuz I refused another tower one)

yea well thats wut i did i held it on there and it then wen i lifted it up it got rele hott and burned up and now there refunding my 12.99 on the credit card and giving free shipping on my next order so i ordered a dubro last nite

They must be having problems with most of them. When I called it was like they already knew what I was gonna say..lol.. Youll like the dubro. I have a couple for my plane and I really like them.

Yeah even a single nicad cell can pack a wallop, if you've ever shorted out a pack accidentally it will leave WELD marks wherever it shorted. That's really really bad, that they're shorting out, WTF.

Yeah when mine shorted it left a big burnt circle mark in the drawer of my pitbox. Them tower hobbies glow ignitors are poop.

yea well i went through 3 of em the 1st lasted a couple months the second a day and the 3rd that i got free for maybe wut not even 5 minutes i got a dubro coming
