I just got a Kyosho Inferno GT, I have killed three glow plugs today trying to break in an engine. I think my first one was due to a too rich mixture, it was an OE glow plug. I bought 2 O'Donnell odo001 red glow plugs today and fried them by the time I burned 3.5 tanks of fuel. Had carb set at the settings recommended by the Kyosho manual. Can anyone help me?

Glow plugs will die during break-in. It could also be that it is too rich. Have you checked?

the first time i was running too rich, the second, third, fourth tanks were at factory settings. i don't know if this is a rich setting. only got half way through the fourth tank. and truck kept stalling at half throttle, that when i knew the plug was dead again.

Pull it out and have a gander, if its black, then its too rich but that wont normally destroy them quickly, if it looks like its been hot and burned, then its too lean. Remember factory settings may end up lean if its a really hot day.
I had that problem just last week and the guys on this forum suggested checking for air leaks too. That of course makes a technically rich mixture lean without you knowing it.

65 degrees, thats about 30 degrees celcius. Temps ok, I guess it could be a bit too rich. Like coby said it could be rich, lean it out 1/8th, make sure there is still smoke (above 1/4 throttle) and see.
