I want to make an SCX30-24 build but dont know whats good. Is it similar to 1/10 crawling? Is there any really good 1/30-24 brands for crawling?

Anyway it would be nice if somebody helped me find a plan for a start. (160$ budget including the SCX30-24 preferably amazon links if you send any)

Scx30 crawls like a 1/10 out of the box it’s a sick rig. I don’t have anybody to crawl with and may sell my bronco soon it has one pack through it if you’re interested
Good to know. Personally not trying to buy used right now due to past trauma

Trauma is winning an ebay bidding war on a mini-z (the pro ones worth 250$+) for $125ish and I receved a HEXMODS RC KIT. I was smoking out the ears and was not able to get a re fund because ebay

I've been there. Scammers be scamming

Ages ago I bought a Losi 1/8th e truggy conversion on another forum. What showed up was a box of absolutely beat and clapped out components.
The "roller" had some wood screws holding it together along with a wheel that had a completely stripped hex.

It was an awful experience; I too was steaming.

I brought the box to my LHS for advice. They said it would cost more to repair then it would cost to buy new.

I blew all the parts out for dirt cheap.

Whenever you buy used you need to exercise extreme caution.

Scx30 over the scx24. It’s way cheaper and way more capable. The price tag of the 24 is just an entry level ticket to a very large money pit.
Easy answer.

Thanks. I found a RTR scx30 for 99$ at my LHS. Should I pull the trigger?
do you crawl indoor smore often than outdoors? i think thats a big factor not mentioned often, the little trucks seem to me to shine most indoors, they rock and roll outdoors but man i dont wanna clean it lolol
i love the 18th scale for indoor fun, but a lot of people on the forum who's opinions i trust say the scx30 is awesome.
you should get one and let us know!
i want the black chevy

I agree with @majin

I've watched them first hand on the indoor crawler course I go to and they kick absolute but right out of the box.

Key word there is indoor.

Doesn't take much to setup some things to make a small course and there are lots of ready made options to purchase as well if you're looking that route.

I usually go to the local Hobbytown to drift and they have a 1/24 indoor track. Would the scx 30 be able to take it?

Oh yeah, it should be fine. The one we're using used to be for 1/18th and it has quickly turned into the 1/24th and 1/30th course.

it would drive around the track, but its a crawler not a drift truck, it wont drift at all
the 1/24 drift track is not something that sounds like the scx30 does bro, make sure you're not getting the wrong vehicle

Oh! I assumed he meant crawler course.
Sorry for not clarifying. I go there to drift my 1/10s but they also have a indoor 1/24 crawler course.

I can’t say no and I won’t say yes. If you are looking for a micro mini crawler then sure, you won’t find anything cheaper. If you up your budget you can get into some really nice 1/18 stuff.
I do believe this 1/30 can crawl outside but take into account its limitations due to size. For me the scx24 needed a lot of aftermarket parts to make it capable.
Any hobby shop won’t allow the crawlers on the drift/mini b tracks due to dirt.

The drifting part was a mistake. Please read the message above.
If I do go for a scx30 what upgrades do I do first? (60$ left in budget if I get the one frome my LHS)
