Hey, I have an rc10gt also, and I bought mine used from lhs. Bad idea, it had so many things that I had to buy for it. I now have everything like new, except I think the engine has a big compression loss, but the problem is. Is that the motor heatsink head screws are stripped so I cannot get the head off. So I cannot get the piston/sleeve out for a new one or repinching, so pretty much I have to buy a whole new motor. I went to the lhs that sold it to me and they are going to look at it. They said that if it is something besides out of tune, I will pay for it. Besides the fact that it will not run for more than 30 secs since I bought it.

Racin_38, u mean like cut the whole head of the screw off? like this?

my.php

If this is the right way, wouldnt the threads still hold the head on? Thanks

no it wont .. the threads are in the block not the head so the head will slip off.. but you will still ahve to get the rest of the screw out of the hole.. if you cut it off you may be able to get enough fo it with plyers after you remove the head.. but if you loctited it then you may not be able to turn it.. if you can get to it try cutting a notch in the head and using a flathead screwdriver.. leave cuttin gthe head off to the last possible option..

honestly no the threads wil not hold the head on,if that was the case then you wuld not be able to drop the screw thru the holes at all they would be threaded also ,just get a drill bit large enough to take off the heads of the screws i am thinking 1/8th or 3/16th

it will be like drilling the head off a pop rivet ,

Do what racin said. I've done it two or three times. Works like a charm. You just gently drill the head of the bolt with a bit that is as large as the bolt head. Then, when the bolt head is gone, you should be able to lift the engine head off and a little stump should be sticking out that you can get out with a pair of needle nose or visegrips.

If it won't turn, don't fudge it up. Heat the bolt nub with a mini torch and try to remove it then. The heat will help the rust or whatever release.

just curous ,shouldnt you heat the case alittle and not the screw itself the heat will expand the screw making it harder to remove
right??

Yeah... sorry. But, if you heat the bolt, then let it cool, it should break loose of whatever is hanging it up. I wouldn't try wrenching on it until it cooled back off.

ok, thanks for all the great ideas. If the lhs doesn't fix the engine that may have to be my last solution...
