Getting an MT

Well here it is. I have a T-Maxx now I am looking into getting another MT. I am looking at either an HPI Savage or the Ofna Dominator. I am in Canada and my lhs has both in. The Savage is $700 Cdn and the Dominator is only $25 more then a Savage at $725.
Which is over all the better MT. Also anyone's thoughts on the 2 MT's and have you seen both running.

I would take the Savage over the Dominator. However, if you were talking Titan that would be a different story. But your not, so I wont.

Got the Savage

Well Çh®i§tiªñ we will see. I picked up the Savage today. Will be breaking it in tomorrow. Going to do the big comparsion of my older Tmaxx with hop-ups that are to many to list(biggest drawback of Tmaxx is the engine OS .15CVX.. Still 10x better then the TRX.15) with the Stock Savage. Both should have about the same top speed. I want to see the climbing and jumping of the different trucks. They say the Savage owns in T-maxx in that area we'll see

I'll say that a hopped up T-Maxx can hold its own with a stock Savage on any given day. Mine sure did. As far as comparing stock to stock, I'll have to put my money on the Savage. Now comparing a hopped up Savage to a hopped up T-Maxx, that would be a race to see. Of course the hopped up T-Maxx would have to be really, really, really, really hopped up to spank a hopped up Savage.

I do look forward to reading your comparison. I'll be making my own in the nearest of futures, but so far my hopped up Savage owns my hopped up T-Maxx.

I think you will find the jumping qualities of the Savage will in fact own!!! :clap: Just ask Woodie! I had 15 foot jumps and landed them all on all 4. So many times that I blew 3 tires off the rims lol. That will teach me not to drill a hole in the rims!!!

Didnt break a thing! All stock too! And I was coming down on hard pavement :bling:

Woodie popped a couple tires off the rims too due to the same thing. Man these things can fly!

Well for tonite I got the 3 most boring tanks of fuel out of the way. For tomorrow I will be doing the fine tuning. Will have to get my Maxx back together also cause it is in several pieces at the moment

My other excuse for another MT was so my wife could use 1 and we can race them. I forsee me winning the first few races till she get's the hang of it or if I let her win unknowningly. Then I my get luck later :dance:

If you value your RCs and intend to include your wife in the hobby, you had better let her win all the races early on...or she will:
A. Lose interest
B. Make you sleep in the garage with your toys
C. Kick your ass in other ways

Hmm Ya I would have to say a really big "D"!!

Also on another note what would be some first required hop-ups.. Don't say fuel filter is a hop-up to me it's a no brainer requirement to have one if you like your engine. I am thinking maybe the HardBodies aluminum shocks, center skid and maybe a fuel tank protector. Is there anything else that I would really want. Would like Titanium Skids if there out yet..

As for the fuel tank protector...go with what you desire. I haven't bought one...yet, but I have not come across a need for one yet.

They certainly aren't cheap on ebay, been looking at a few today and they exceed $350-500 ending auctions.
