Genesis---question

hey folks, hope the weekend was a good 1. I just lost my 4th 1-way bearing in my 24.7 so I tossed the whole mill in the crapper. If it dont work- it dont stay. Besides its the 3rd sleeve & piston in-er so later.
Back to what I want to ask is---has anyone here had a chance at the Genesis monster truck yet????? I came damn near to plopping down $75.00 down payment on there web site for 1 today but I gotta admit $525.00 +S&H for that huge sucker just doesn't add up. It looks more like a $1,000 truck everytime I see it. Was looking at the Titan-twin, ThunderTiger, Dominator, Ofna's 80% Mt w/.25 engine & a few others & all cost more than the Genesis & are 1/2 the size & power. Ok I'm all ears, tanx

I'm not sure if the truck is even out yet. I also plan on buying the genesis, but havnt been able to find much info and stuff on it. It has gotten Rave reviews and looks unbreakable. I can't wait.

One of the guys at my LHS has worked on the .46 for the genesis and he says its a crap motor. I'm not sure what he meant but the word "crap" being used to describe a motor can't be good.

I haven't heard anything good about the engine either. Most people just scrap them a get a powerful .25+.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm---be nice to take-a-lookie inside that motor. I know from past exp. a .26 piston & sleeve is getting REAL close to the head bolt holes. I think the standard 3.5 big block casting has gone just about as far as it can without a major change in casting. Then out comes the .28!!! still in the .21-3.5 case! Now a .46!! in the same case??? Then there's a matter of balanceing that huge rotating mass. Crank has to be heavier to compensate. I think Chevy did the same thing when they invented the small block "400"ci using the same block design as they have since 1955 with there first small block "265"ci------- didn't work.
oh--well, maybe Genesis got there math right--maybe not. I just dont like being a ginnie pig at my cost to see what works & what doesn't for anyone. At any rate something as revolutionary as the Genesis with its .46, 3-speed, 4-wheel steering is either gonna change r/c-ing as we know it or sink like a lead baloon out-o-the-gate. Gotta watch this one cause I'm still interested in 1. Like to see RCNitro Talk do a independent test review & shake down, it'll be the 1st one I've seen on this guy except for Genesis own hype up. Tanx for the input
