Scored an amazing deal on this one today so I picked it up immediately. It was a 2 hour drive in total, but I finally got my hands on a huge 7.7

3 years ago, the genesis was actually almost going to be my first nitro, but then I chose the savage last moment because I was hoping for higher fuel economy🤣
(Imho in the end the savage was indeed a better first pick though but due to parts availability)

Very cool. Are you doing a complete strip down and cleaning?
Thanks,
The only shelf queens I have are those that wait for months before I find the right parts like this one lol

So a like-new result of the genesis isn't likely going to happen, but I've already started stripping it down now, starting with the engine.
She'll be ready to run in uh... probably not too soon, seeing its condition🤣 but that day will come👍

I was a little afraid at the beginning that the engine might be done since it was clogged bad enough for it to be tough to pull while hardly feeling any compression. However, after quite some struggle, I removed the cooling head screws, sprayed some magic soup WD40 and it did its thing. All engine mount screws, from top to bottom, appear to be welded or something🤷🏼‍♂️ I tried extremely high temperatures with very tight pressure but nope. Luckily every other screw is completely fine🙂
My house is slightly unordered at the moment, as it always is when it's just me and my dad, but on top of that now we're moving my room, my sister's and my dad's🤣 there's still space on the ground for me to do the tear down but I don't mind, that's how I started out LOL

Edit: I realised the engine mount screws from the bottom were also hexagon shaped on their outside. The multidriver I bought yesterday came in very handy👌
