I bought a jato 2.5 from a member here to give to my nephew...he can't handle it, way too fast for him. I'll be keeping it and its not fast enough for me. I believe the gearing now is 54/22...go up on the cb or spur for top end? Any reccomendation on tooth count?

leave gearing alone, just re adjust the throttle to half open , and give back.

just readjust the throttle so will only open half way. i do it my self to brake in an engine, or just get used to a machine.

The half throttle idea sounds good, may try that with the wife. lol

The half throttle idea is not going to work. It'll be real hard to tune and the engine will not run for crap.
To gain high end speed you can go with more bell teeth, less spur teeth, or both.
