Could someone just explain briefly about the number of teeth on the spur and clutch. What difference does a larger number of teeth do as opposed to smaller? Trying to beef up acceleration with out sacrificing top end..is that the catch 22

Yes it is a catch 22.

The smaller the bell, the faster acceleration and lower top speed.
On the spur, Its the exact opposite. Larger the spur the faster acceleration and lower top speed.

Rule of thumb is 1 tooth on the bell is the same as 2-3 teeth on a spur. You can mix and match to fine tune your gearing.

What do you think is a good match ? I have a stock RC10GT except for Motorsaver Airfilter and Ace Exhaust pipe. Lookin for a happy medium. ( Better than stock set up)

Please describe where you drive and what kind of surface you are on as well as what engine you are using.

I mostly drive on Asphalt, sometimes off-road ( parking lots/backyard). I have the stock AE.15 looking to upgrade to an O.S .15. But for now the stock set up.

First thing is to get some street tires. Street tires are usually smaller in diameter and will increase your take off speed. If you drive on pavement with your off road tires they will be trashed in no time. You can drop a tooth on the clutch bell if you want but the tires should do it for now.
