Question for those with a 24.7 XTM motor..what are you using for gearing? I want to find the best for backyard bashing..thanks.

Would like to get right in the middle..sounds to me like the 24.7 is really turning some RPM's..thats why i thought i should go up a tooth on the cb..I'm not big into wheelies so thats not an issue...

With the 24.7, you can gear pretty high and still get wheelies. By high, I mean 48/16. But that may be to stinking fast for a basher. I know I'd just break a lot of parts running that fast.

Depending on what surface you drive on and where you drive, you'd be more than safe running 52/15 and more than likely 52/16.

The more teeth you have on your clutch bell the faster the overall speed will be. You will lose a bit of punch off the line.

For the Spurr gear its the exact opposite.
Rule of thumb: 1 tooth on the bell = 3 teeth on the spurr

i run an xtm 24.7, I have found that 15/52 is an awesome set up. Tons of tq and great upper end. SO its right in the middle. Just ask OLDs, he knows how it goes. :jk:

Thanks guys, Ill give it a try. Are the Delrin spur gears that much better?

The stock S-25 comes with 15/49 so you should gear up a bit taller than that. 16/49 would be a good choice.
