What is a good RTR that can be upgraded with a g speed and overdrive trans ..if I'm right G speed is a chassis with low center of gravity an the overdrive is a course the gearing ..if I could find a rig with one are both components that is RTR I would be doing good thanks

If you spend all the money buying an RTR rig and then spend more money swapping the chassis and replacing the transmission, I'd suggest just building it up from parts to begin with. This vanquish is solid choice for an rtr lcg "comp-ish" rig. There are a couple kits as well, vanquish carbon and axial scx pro that are similar.

Yes you are right..I have looked at the redcat accent fusion..but I saw the upgrade that brought the center of gravity lower ..think it was a carbon fiber frame ...what do you think about the fusion vers. The vanquish?

I don't own either, so take it with a grain of salt, but have crawled with owners for years and watched countless hours of reviews. The redcat fusion is surprisingly good for the price, followed 90% of my line and I've sunk around $1,500 into my scx pro. The vanquish is just better built than the redcat. The parts are more expensive, but craftmanship, function etc are all top notch. There are numerous lcg chassis types, rock pirates, g-speed, brazin scale etc etc. Every platform can be upgraded, brass, axles, transmission, motors/esc fusion pro, Holmes, sequre etc. Basically like with any hobby there's no end of the cash you can throw at it.

If you're just starting out, the redcat fusion is a solid comp truck for the price, the vanquish rtr a step up and a vanquish or scx pro kit with selected electrics a further step. after that it's youtube, forums and add to cart until you get a rig that is tweaked to your liking.

Personally, I don't think there is a big enough performance difference between the Redcat Fusion and the Vanqish to spend the extra money on the Vanquish. I would get the Fusion. Some folks probably have a different view. Either way your going to get a really nice rig.

Yep I was a mechanic for GM for 15 years till I got cancer so I have had a lot of time here lately to watch videos I have a good understanding of how suspension works and parts but the transmitter stuff is like Chinese lol .it's crazy what they are doing I have been building models and looking in to this as a hobby we have a small pasture out here and if it works out I'm going to try an build a nice track out here for people but thanks for the advice..there is some helpful information on here

Welp, glad you're still with us :thumbs-up:
Sounds like you may have time and the skill set for a builders kit, but the redcat is certainly a great place to start. I'd get a set of rc hex wrenches (I have snap-on tools, these rc ones do actually work better lol) The electrics aren't that difficult, most of it plugs in the same way across brands, you can mix-match esc, motors and servos, but radios you can't; Receiver (Rx in the vehicle) and Transmitter (Tx in your hand) need to be the same brand. That's it, everything else is just following the setup instructions in the radio manual or watching a YT video. 90% of the features on the transmitter you won't use.

I enjoy crawling over other RC's ( I have several others, typhon, kraton, infraction etc) but crawling is technically challenging and peaceful. And it looks like a little truck! This is a great forum, if you run into anything there are many people around that can help!

Some youtubers I recommend for product reviews:
@RCReviewChannel <- review channel, mostly crawlers
@scalebuildersguild <- reviews and custom built scale crawlers
@CapeCrawlers <- reviews and mini crawlers
@westdesertwheeler <-reviews and custom/4ws, high-end components
@ExocagedRC <- reviews everything, not always in depth, but covers most popular components
@RCTNT <- comparison reviews (bought my scx pro based on a few of his vids)
@ RCDriver <- reviews many types of cars, industry knowledge
@RCexplained <- crushingly in-depth electrical

I agree..they say the redcat fusion has a lot of pro parts (like up grades)out of the box think I'll do that an maybe down the road pick up used one's on like eBay for parts to eventually build my own rig I love the ones that have that whine sound to them I'm not sure if that's the gears or a low torque motor an not sure if they sound like that out the box but it seems the ones that have that sound seem to have super low speed and hook and even spin less..what your thoughts?

The Fusion motor/esc combo is my personal favorite the FOC control is unbeatable for slow crawl control. The Fusion Ascent can be adjusted here and there for a little more performance but that will come after you gain some experience. I always like to run a rig for a while to learn it's characteristics before upgrading anything (except for wheels and tires- I always do this).

It's easy to fall into the trap of upgrading stuff when you first get a new crawler, but some upgrades don't always increase performance, which is why it's good to get to know your rig before you start swapping things around.
