Yep I was a mechanic for GM for 15 years till I got cancer so I have had a lot of time here lately to watch videos I have a good understanding of how suspension works and parts but the transmitter stuff is like Chinese lol .it's crazy what they are doing I have been building models and looking in to this as a hobby we have a small pasture out here and if it works out I'm going to try an build a nice track out here for people but thanks for the advice..there is some helpful information on here
Welp, glad you're still with us

Sounds like you may have time and the skill set for a builders kit, but the redcat is certainly a great place to start. I'd get a set of rc hex wrenches (I have snap-on tools, these rc ones do actually work better lol) The electrics aren't that difficult, most of it plugs in the same way across brands, you can mix-match esc, motors and servos, but radios you can't; Receiver (Rx in the vehicle) and Transmitter (Tx in your hand) need to be the same brand. That's it, everything else is just following the setup instructions in the radio manual or watching a YT video. 90% of the features on the transmitter you won't use.
I enjoy crawling over other RC's ( I have several others, typhon, kraton, infraction etc) but crawling is technically challenging and peaceful. And it looks like a little truck! This is a great forum, if you run into anything there are many people around that can help!
Some youtubers I recommend for product reviews:
@RCReviewChannel <- review channel, mostly crawlers
@scalebuildersguild <- reviews and custom built scale crawlers
@CapeCrawlers <- reviews and mini crawlers
@westdesertwheeler <-reviews and custom/4ws, high-end components
@ExocagedRC <- reviews everything, not always in depth, but covers most popular components
@RCTNT <- comparison reviews (bought my scx pro based on a few of his vids)
@ RCDriver <- reviews many types of cars, industry knowledge
@RCexplained <- crushingly in-depth electrical
