  1. Bashing

I recently purchased a riot 2 for some off road bashing, around a local beach and some sand dunes. it was entertaining but became very frustrating after a while as the engine just became un reliable with the one way bearing slipping and the carb getting damaged in a small accident, at the moment i feel like moving onto something else and will repair and order a new engine for the riot at some stage, but i am looking at getting into something that can handle the terrain i drive on a bit better, i am looking at the following 3, i run ts4ns and after sealing the engines on these i can honestly say it is the most easy going and running engine i have ever had the pleaseure of running, so I'm slightly biased towards the mta4 in my following selection,

but i am looking for something that can take a bit of bashing (not hardcore wrecking or tumbling) without constant replacing and repairs of parts,

with the riot i had only 6 months and went throught 2 sets of shocks, 2 fuel tanks, and 3 total engine rebuilds....and an exhaust manifold...all from driving and jumping on soft sand.....with my ts4n I'm luck if i have to change my 2 speed plastic gear if a stone gets in there lol.

anyway here the ones I'm looking at, feel free to recommend something else but id rather something at or below this price range....(1/10 models considered too)

Bashing is breaking. In the last month and a half, I've spent more time waiting for parts than I have run either of my trucks. You can always look into upgraded parts for what you have.

Out of the three you've selected, I know nothing about the Thunder Tiger, is that an off-brand? I've heard alot of good things about the Aftershock and Savage though.

Look here for more info on the Savage: https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15

cheers for the help, i have been tempted by the hpi as parts seem to be every where for it.
Thunder tiger are a well known brand here in ireland and the uk.
They sell choppers, truggys, cars monster trucks. I find their engines easy to run and tune. They have been established a long time.
