Keep in mind though, if you put on longer shocks for travel, it may upset stability too.

Are you looking for longer travel? The Furitek rigs are pretty dialed in really, and the Terra X is pretty sweet. You might be able to move the shock mounting positions to more vertical, but that would change handling characteristics.
