Yeah, Helidirect/DirectRC is actually Furitek USA, and I am guessing they are the guys influencing some of the Furitek built rigs. You figure these little trucks can run well over $400 fully built. This would be a much better build to start with.

Looks good, Not sure about the body though. There are a lot of Hobby Plus parts on it, but they have partnered with them on previous rigs too.

I believe that is their cheap, like $40 radio system. So I doubt that figures into the final cost much.

The truck has 4 wheel steering, so you'll need a 3 channel radio with 4ws capability. Something like the Flysky GT5 would be good.

It probably doesn't, I agree. But it's just something else I have to dispose of, and fill up a landfill with that I don't need. My old 4PLS will work fine. I have the room for a small crawler course, so maybe a small scale rig is in my future at some point.

I was raised not to be wasteful. So with that mindset, all the RTR radios create a dilemma

Hi guys, newcomer here, I just wanted to chime in since that truck is coming my way as soon as it is on stock here in Europe.
I was watching every video so far, and there are not many yet, but what I just found out is that the original Hobby Plus axles have something like a "stopper-lid" (see pictures) on top in order to keep the servo in place to not stretch too far back over the axle itself so that the links attached next to it can move freely. That design seems to limit the length of aftermarket upgrade servos to be used, or? Most of them in question e.g. TORQ TCM-1022 or INJORA INJS11 are already a few millimeters too long and would stick over this stopper-lid. So, I guess it won't be an easy fit to mount different servos, as always, a bit of MacGyver engineering will be needed.

A small addition which might be of help for someone who's looking for upgrade servos. I researched a lot which servos might fit decently well and perform better, so here are my results:

> NSDRC - RS100 (likely the one I'll go with because it doesn't need an upgraded BEC, with max. 7.4V its strong enough with the BEC that comes with the Unity)
> TORQ - TCM-1022 (another top choice)
> SHIFT RCS - Nano M Micro Servo (top specs, unfortunately not really watertight by design, only water resistant)
> for the servo horn, so far I only know for sure that the 25T "EcoPower Aluminum servo horn for ECP-173 and X24 servos" is a perfect fit, but you need longer M2 screws e.g. M2x14mm
...unfortunately, all these servos are a few millimeters longer than the stock 21T FURITEK Springbok servos... let's see, it will be an experiment.
