I just got this T-MAXX the other day and the carb on the engine that was on it was messed right up. The middle part of the carb, the whole thing that is connected to the low-speed needle and throttle dealy slides out. You can push it back in but as soon as you give it gas or whatever, as soon as you apply the throttle, it slides back out again, it is really pissing me off. Does anyone know a solution or anything they could say here? I am sorry I don't know the exact wording of it all.

Sounds like the idle adjust screw was unscrewed too far. Unscrew the idle adjust screw and push the throttle back to the open position and then screw your idle adjust screw back in all the way. When you let go of the throttle your carb should be completely open so you will have to readjust it. Hope this helps.

Could you replace a carb with another carb, like from a different make as long as they were intended for the same size engine?

Yes, you can replace the carb with one from another engine. Just make certain that the neck size is the same so that you have a good fit for carb to engine.

Many people have replaced TRAXXAS carbs with OS carbs to great effect.

since were talkin about carbs, is it thecarb that makes it easy to tune and start or is it the engine?thanks

The carb is most of the tuning and can help make an engine easier to start, but it is not the entire thing when it comes to starting an engine.

Man, I couldn't fix it, it's messed. When you push the middle section back in and tighten the idle screw, you've either tightened it too much and the arm can't move, or it's too loose and the whole thing comes out again, and if you leave it somewhere in between, like a moderate setting, it'll be really stiff for the servo to move. It's really freaking messed. So I just put a different carb on it and now I sort of have another problem. :thumbdown Now, the carb that's on it can't seem to go to full open upon giving it full throttle, the only way to get it to open fully upon applying full throttle is to set it so that the idle gap is too big! Can anyone help me with THIS problem?, please dear God, thanks.

My girlfriend gave me the carbs one time and I had to buy this kwell stuff and then put it..

oh wait....

sorry
