Ran the rustler today 1 battery pack. Blew a rear bearing in the hub. Decided to do a full rebuild cause it needs it. Found a couple of stripped screws so my uncle is coming over with his Dremel and cutting wheel. Rebuilding the driveshafts too so my uncle is trying to find something or brake clean to de grease the splines (MIP X duty shafts) I got a new chassis and gear box coming in on Monday.

Since I would have this chassis around. Once I get more money in I might do a bandit or another rustler build. I got some of the parts to do another rustler build.
Or I might just keep this chassis around just in case or something to sell with the car if I do sell in future.

Well I rebuilt the driveshafts today. Also rebuilt the slash shocks. I used AE Factory team 50wt oil in both the rustler and slash big bore shocks. I had a set of green shock caps laying around so I put them on the slash and the blue shock caps on the rustler.

For the slash, I have a custom printed ESC tray/battery strap thing. I still have double sided tape residue on the plate. What I did is just put hand sanitizer on it since I don't have anything else. Maybe wd40 can work. Gotta find that, it's somewhere in the house. Also yes I do have a lot of bearings which I need to clean up.

Got the ESC tray clean and routed the on/off switch differently. I had wrapped it around the ESC wire and taped it on to the receiver box. Planning on fixing up the mini b tomorrow with the new savox servo and newly painted body. I have a good tire collection for the mini. I got the stocks which the rears are now slicks. I got carpet tires (Proline prisim and proline wedges) and clay rear tires (Jcon Ellipse) Also for tomorrow my uncle plans to come over tomorrow to demel out the stripped screw on the rustler and maybe solder up the battery bullets for the buggy.

New parts. Some are spares like the extra buggy wheels.

Went with the stock steel camber links for the rustler. Running strict on money so that's why I didn't get the titanium but these stock steel ones should hold up. I got 2 slash lower chassis. Hopefully the Plastic bellcrank that I ordered helps with those pegs. Also got the washers and screws from the slash exploded view. Also got a new rustler chassis and top plate. 272R transmission gearbox since I snapped the back of the gear box. I also got extra buggy wheels for later and some more Velcro for the buggy body.
Here is the old rustler 2wd chassis vs the new 2022 updated chassis. The 2022 has a slightly larger battery tray and is more flat on the bottom.

On this Saturday morning I rebuilt the transmission with the new gearbox and rebuilt the rear end and the new chassis. I like the new chassis so far since it is flat on the bottom, little taller battery tray. And just found this feature out. They put a set screw to lock in the antenna tube which is nice. The older chassis you just put the tube in and sometimes it falls out. Now it is time for the steering and front end. Also with the new chassis they made a new top plate which I have as well. Also I did put on the rear steel camber links from the VXL version and set the camber (just eyed it for right now)

Last night I did some late night wrenching and I rebuilt the slash steering I looked at the slash and drag slash exploded views and got the washers and screws. I also got the stock plastic bellcrank so hopefully that all helps with the peg thing. If this works I will go to the aluminum bellcrank or wait until I break the plastic one.

I had finished rebuilding the rustler so that is all good to go. Slash is all good to go. Going to charge up 3 battery packs for today. Hopefully nothing breaks 🤞 Idk why but I kinda like the stock bodies to so I'm running them today.

Well yesterdays bash I did all 3 battery packs and storage charge right after. I did 1 for the rustler and 2 for the slash. For the rustler, apparently the pinion gear wasn't on there fully and flew off the motor (I wasn't running the gear cover) then I had to ran into the street to save the car. Found the pinion with the magnet stick. Put the pinion back on and put on the gear cover. Besides that the rustler and slash ran fine. I cleaned and sort of packed up the workbench. I might be going down to the track on Saturday. Trying to get there right at opening cause racing starts at 12 and I might race. All that I am bringing is the buggy and the mini b if it is running by then. If I dont go to the track Saturday, then it is basically a little break from rcs.

Good luck at the track first time racing. You will be hooked up. Next club race for is Saturday 28th, we race once every 2 weeks

Well technically this is my second time racing. My first time was in 2016 at my old LHS (carpet track) in 2wd SCT young guns. That's when my slash was all stock. I think I got 3rd out of 5 people in the A main so that is good. Good for starting out. Now this time, it is at a clay track, bigger track and with a whole new car. I'm fine with driving the 4wd buggy, it's just how to control it in the air and learning how to speed up when the jump comes. My new local track does races every Wednesday and Saturday. The only time I could go down for the next few months is Saturday. They race 2wd buggy (stock and mod) 4wd buggy (stock and mod) 4wd SCT and 1/10 electric truggy (like the tekno ET410s and the xray truggy) If I ever wanted to, I might bring my slash. I think they would let me run the slash in a 4wd SCT class. My car is probably just slower and heavier. Also when I was there a few weeks ago I seen a lot of racers using slicks or worn down tires. I got the Jconcepts Ellipse all around on mine. I do slide around some corners. Might try like a tire compound sauce or might just get slicks.
Now my old LHS which closed down back in September. They had a carpet track. They raced on Thursday nights for the normal classes. They also did Tuesday for TT02 Tuesday. They also did Monday for mini Monday which that class didn't make it. I'm just so used to driving on carpet. And the clay track is a lot bigger and more bigger jumps as with the old carpet track, they used wood, pvc pipe and turf for the jumps. (They were alot shorter too) I don't remember how they did it at my old LHS but is the race fee included with practice? I'm short on money and my practice fee went up 10 dollars from the old carpet track.

Well I knew it would happend. Broke the plastic bellcrank that I installed for the slash. Didn't break the pegs so that's good. I'll go back to aluminum one and hope I don't break the pegs. Since this is my 8th plate. Traxxas tough. 😐🙄

For the slash - Went back to the aluminum bellcrank and I used the plastic center bar since the aluminum one was bent. Had to make it somewhat match somi spray painted it with my lexan body paint I had.
