whats the best fuel to get the most performance out of my os .18 in my t-maxx what nitro will give the most power trying to keep up with my friends with savage 5.9 and losi xxl

sorry never took typing in school. so I'm not too good at putting peridos and whatnot in what i type........what %nitro fuel will give my .18 the best performance?

I'm pretty sure 20% would do ya just fine. I like O'donnell, never tried Byron's, but I've heard it's good too. No top fuel unless it's your only choice.

Ya top fuel is all I have right now. 30% won't be any better?

That depends, you running the OS18TM, OS18TZ or OS 18 CV-R?

The first two properly shimmed you might get more bang out of it, but if it's the last one, probably wouldn't do much but cost more.

Your best bet is to figure out how to lose some weight. Smaller/lighter tires with a bit taller gearing along with a slimmed down trans (no reverse parts) will help with spooling up to stop speed faster. Possibly a better pipe to get the most out of your engine.

I run 25% but it isn't really for "performance" but rather just because my engine manual suggested it. I ran 20% for years in all my rigs, but for the past 2, I've run 25% and all I've noticed is that they tune a bit easier, idle a bit better and have a hair more snap in general. Bumping to 30% is just pointless for a basher. Racing... maybe.

Out of all the fuels I've tried, I really like byrons the best. I run their 25% when I can find it and if I can't, I run 50/50 20% and 30% (mix it in spare jugs). I recently just burned through a few gallons of odonnells... I'll never buy that stuff again. Way too oily and causes internal one way bearings to gum up. Makes me glad I have two gallons of byrons sitting on my shelf just itching for spring. I'll burn this last quart of odonnells and be done with it.

In 20% I've run traxxas top fuel, eliminator, blue thunder, trinity MHP, odonnells, losi nitrotane, HPI fuel, byrons, byrons gen II. I like byrons the best so far. Burns really cleanly, engines run consistent and cool from tank to tank.

Mine is a tm. I was thinking about getting the sidewinder fuel

I'd still go for lightening it up a bit. What pipe are you running? I ran the TM in my revo and it was a whole different engine once I upgraded the pipe. Before the pipe it was still a great engine vs the 2.5R.

stock right now i plan on getting a pipe soon not sure on what to get tho. and i was thinking about gettting the pro-line badlands tires because they are a bit smaller and prob lighten it up some

The pin type tires that come on the sport maxx are considerably lighter than the chevrons. You can find them real cheap on the fleabay.
