well, today I'm bashing wit ha buddy of mine and all of a sudden my throttle servo goes dead , i checked all the wires and nothing gives , is there a reason why it would just die like that?
either way i need to buy a new one.
 
Normally they get a little flaky before they just stop, but sometimes they just stop.

The TRS on the revo in stock form is way too stiff for the throttle servo they supply. It puts a lot of strain on the servo. I run a electronic FS and redid my throttle linkage to remove the TRS. I also run a 985MG (.13sec @ 172oz) for throttle brake... It's overkill, but it's a well built servo. I was planning ahead for winter time since the 985MG has o-rings everywhere sealing it. I run the same for steering on the revo.

I'm running my aftershock now. The revo may be my winter basher... or I'll get rid of it.

I'm just not sure i want to spend that much money rigth now , I'm purely a basher , and i spend more time fixing the damn thing then playing , maybe next year i will invest more to get it running to perfection, but I'm going to stick with the stock servo, cost me 3$ on ebay compared to 60 to 100$ for the more powerful ones.

i went through 2 trx and both spectrums! i had my endpoints set and everything. they say the throtle return spring is too strong and then with the rear brakes they just can't hang!

Then at a minimum, I would get an electronics FS, remove the TRS and re-do the linkage so it isn't needed. You will get better throttle response and your servos will last longer.

Well, it's what mine looked like when I was running TRX servos. It's similar now, but the servo horn is for hitec and it's a "normal" horn instead of the purpose built one for the revo that traxxas has.

I like it better than the z-end. It doesn't wear like a z-bend and is more secure if you put a washer over the ball to secure it from popping off.

You can typically pick up threaded end wire at your LHS, these ball ends and a bag of collars for a few bucks. It's a cheap way to make better linkage.

Also, you can replace the 4x6 bushings in the throttle pivot with 4x6 bearings to further reduce slop and friction.

These are cheaper things you can do to make things work better for longer.
