After 4 years of heavy use my 8 cell AA battery charger took a dump.
I went to Radio hack to get another one when a light bulb went off in my head.
"I have a great battery charger at home that I use to charge my RC hump packs with. Why do I need spend $45.00 for a AA charger?"

I went home and found an old TX battery tray from a radio I dont use and adapted it to my Hump charger.

I simply soldered 2 copper strips to an old Tamiah connector and I was done.
Here are a few pics. It works great.

I've been doing something like that for a while now. That is how I charge the AAAs for my Mini-Z Monster and thought about getting a plug for charging the batts in my radios.

It is definately the way to go plus you get more use out of your charger.

I could but the idea is to use thing you have laying around the house and make one yourself for free.

Hey i just bought a soldering gun and was wondering what type wire i need to get to solder wires and all someone told me that u had to use a certain type of wire. Thanks for any responses.

I dont quite understand your question.
Could you re-phrase it for me.

i think what he means it the type of sodering wire I don't know what type it is but there are lots of diff kinds you can solder stain glass, pipes and wires to name a few things

I think he meant what type of solder to use, I think most any type of silver solder at your neighborhood Rat Shack should do fine.

You can also do it the lazy man's way , I just banana plugged all the different charging adapters I need for about $5.

The type of solder you would need is rosin core solder. there is also acid core solder but that is for copper pipe and will not work on wire.

Get Rosin core solder 60/40 Tin/Lead. Available at department stores, home improvement stores, and Radio Shack.

What Does That Super Brain Charger Cost?? And How Do I Get One? And How Difficult Are They To Use Charging Batteries Scares Me A Little

I paid 95 for it at my LHS. I like it because it has delta peak detection which helps to ensure you don't over/undercharge. It comes with a power supply for home use and you can also discharge while charging another battery, or charge two batteries at once. It also does li-po cells if you decide to ever get in to that and is really easy to use. To be honest it is pretty much overkill for what I need it for since I have gotten rid of my rotostart. But as you can see from this thread you can use it for all of your household batteries.

Check this thread out for a nice charger at a good price, it pretty much does everything the superbrain does, just not as many bells and whistles.
