We are patrolled by state and sheriff offices. Response time might be fast or it might not be. If there's an accident or a fire one town over, I am very likely the ONLY person who's coming to rescue me.
I have medical conditions that literally prevent me from running. So I don't, ever.

we've got historical plates as well as you can get a special construction tag but they limit the number of those every year and they sell out early on day one. iv been lead to believe both have limitations. idk exactly.

no sense in arming yourself, CA is a right to flee state, you're not aloud to defend yourself or your property here, if someone breaks into my house and i shoot them i would get in more trouble than they would. if someone mugs me on the street and i stab them or beat them up, I'm in more trouble than the mugger. that said, i do keep a small aluminum baseball bat next to my bed, as well as a pretty good size knife. its gotten to be a craps shoot on rather or not the cops will show up when called so...

I remember when they said anything over 25 yrs old is smog exempt in 2000. So it's not really changed since then, which is a bummer. But the cars in the 90's wouldn't die and they didn't want a bunch of street racers having any fun legally, so it stayed where it is.

It's 100% guaranteed that the police will not show up in any reasonable amount of time. SJPD says their response time s 6 mins. But an audit (2023) says it's 18 mins.

Can you imagine defending yourself from some high dirt bag for 18 mins? Till the cops actually show up? Then what?

But don't worry defending yourself in Cali is 100% OK. However, even if the Sheriff says you're good, you have to deal with the aftermath, from the family ... and the public doxing. Which means even though you survived the attack your bank account is empty and your career is pretty much done for. Better to go underground and live off the grid at that point.

Kinda of screwed either way.

You're pretty much not allowed to defend property/assets. So get good insurance and buy better stuff if you get jacked.

I don't mean to come across as dark. The fact of the matter is that I have had a gun pulled on me and my girlfriend by some sh*tpump in an F3retard. I told him to fock himself. If he had the balls to pull the trigger, I'd have never seen the gun. If he was in front of me and not in his truck, I'd be dead or in jail most likely.
Soooooo... research and a shooting range.
This is the world we live in, not the one we want neccesarily. I don't encourage violence but I won't tollerate it being brought to me or my family either.
Relying on anyone other than yourself for food, money, shelter seems like a very bad idea to me.
Relying on someone else to protect me when lives are at stake???
We need to protect OURSELVES imo.

There is insurance for ppl who feel similarly. In case of personal protection where a person was required to use force. I belong to USCCA right now.
You are prob going to get arrested etc, there may be backlash... but i'm still pretty sure its better to face 12 jurors than 6 pallbearers.

Agree with you 100%. It's all F'd up and it's getting worse Despite them taking out money to fix something it only buys excuses and needs more money. They could care less if we are dead or alive as long as we pay our taxes. We are no more than live stock that produce cash.

The problem is the politicians on BOTH sides don't want to solve problem. They want the problem to have something to fight for, but actually solving it is bad for their job. More problems = more money.

But anyway I love the Square Body trucks. Simple, easy to work on and they used to be affordable too.
