Scored another of these antique Bolink cars. I've got a fleet now. This one is a bit rough but still fixable.

I might have to start a couple "Build Showcase" threads. This one is a bit rough. The body is shot. The front end is pretty loose as in no bearings in one wheel. It's got a Trinity motor and Novak esc. I'll be chucking those.

Why chuck it??? Vintage folks might like like to buy that stuff if it didn't already let out the magic smoke anyways. 😎

I love the car!!!! 😍👍
Really? I've got a couple Trinity motor set-ups. One with the Novak and the other is a Tekin Gold Fet II

Agreed. Don't toss those vintage electronics. How do they look? I have a number of shelf queens I could possibly use them in, and so does Mike I bet.
The Novak just looks dirty. The Tekin looks good, seems that one was a fair bit more technical. Back in the 80's I ran all Novak stuff. Both motors turn over. They are definitely available if interested.

Just hang on to them for a bit if you don't mind. I don't care if they run or not. My shelf queens won't ever need to be operational. But sitting there with empty motor mounts looks kinda funny. But I just spent everything I have this month on my kid's b-day, so it will be a bit before I recoup.

Mike might need them as well?

You are in line first. I would be interested if you pass though.
I am thinking to try and run a vintage as powered in 1980's too... Its been a LONG time since I ran real vintage gear! 😍
I've got some gear but who knows hiw long it will last after all these years... it would be fun even just as a retro flashback.
I am not sure if I'll buy more nimh packs though! 🤣

I'm glad these won't go to waste!!! 😎

Once in awhile my wife and I go to Meridian speedway on Saturday evenings " haven't been in a couple years"
and watch the races.
The Legends and Winged Sprints are my fav.

I have mentioned a friend of mine in high school who had a Kyosho Vanning. His dad built him a dirt track, and also built a 5' long RC pulling car and scaled down pulling sled. My friends dad was also one of the very first guys to race the Legends cars. He built and fabricated the entire car himself. He was a seriously talented individual, and one helluva tool & die maker. I also later worked with him at General Housewares. I remember seeing his Legend car when he brought it to work right after he built it. I thought it was a joke, because it was so small. But when I looked inside it, I was shocked. Really cool cars.

I believe they run them at Stafford Speedway in Ct.

Pretty sure there is at least most of one of these in the back of my dad's garage in a box. We raced a pair of them for a little bit.
well go dig it out and put it together, wth! a box in the garage is no place for an RC car.

Just realized I have a Hobbywing 10BL-120 matched to a Hobbywing 3660 quicrun sitting here as well. Not sure which to use. After a better look at the body it's not that bad. The front suspension is really bad so I ordered new parts for that. I am finding the 40 yr old plastic is pretty brittle though.

Looking at the pic you posted of the body, I was curious what was bad on it, because it looks pretty darned nice to me.

Once I cleaned all the old stickers off it, I found it was only slightly damaged at the rear fender / running board intersection. The colors are a bit odd. Pink with gold grill and running boards.
