Have bought a Force .46 motor for a Savage X - but - it doesn't fit the engine mount. Any ideas what mount to use ?
Suggestions please.

Do you have a second mount. To cut it down. To the way you need. Or even try a different mount. I always use different company's parts. To work with what I need. Could always get some aluminum plates to make that one mount tabs widerOk, here's some pics of mount and motor. I really don't think it will fit my Savage X, the gearbox pulley will hit the carb. It'd a Force .46 motor with a standard HPI savage mount. I think I may end up having to make something and perhaps fit into another buggy !

Sometimes got to think out side the box. Especially with one off buildI will probably take another look in the autumn/winter and see what I can do. I have spare mounts and fortunately work at an engineering company, I'm sure something can be manufactured. I don't think it will fit the Savage due to the gearbox pulley placement, but have some others that may well be re-drilled etc !
Thanks for the reply though.
I put my 3.3 in quite a few cars. One thing I had to do was change the angle of the carb. The nut under the aluminum cover under the brass jet(?), unscrew that and adjust it if needed.I will probably take another look in the autumn/winter and see what I can do. Aahhh, Kitchen Engineering, there is nothing like it to waste away the time. I just love it..Hi guys, thanks for all advice. Have been a bit quiet with nitro lately, just can't get them running right, maybe the warm summer air will work better ?!
Will take a look and see if an hpi mount is out there !
Yes, Stoner, I have a few mounts I can cut. Don't you just love 'kitchen engineering ' ???
Nice lineup bud. Love the smell of nitro in the morning. Nitros definitely don't like the temps under 60°. And what fuel you run helps with the tunning and running of your nitroYer must agree starting a 1/5 scale is like starting a chainsaw, nice and easy. Would love to get another FG monster truck, didn't like the Baja that much. But now I have 13 Savages to keep me broke, LOL. I never seem to learn. But the thing I love about Nitro is the love/hate relationship. I friggin hate them most of the time but love them when they work right which ain't that often. Think it's abit like being married. And before you ask, no I ain't, got rid of that expense 24 years ago, couldn't keep her and my toys, well the toys won thank Christ.
@Gouldie62, well here's my collection of Savages

@STONE RC, thanks bro, I do seem to have a liking for the Savage, Had 3 back in the hay day when they 1st came out. Those days were good, so many aftermarket parts available back then. Did what everyone did and blinged my 1st one right up to the point it was heavier than a sack of spuds and totally unusable but did look good. So bought another to use but hey the same thing happened, bought a Truckzilla kit for it, which was total crap. Was nice to have the extended TVPs, this was the days before the XL existed, but the wheels buckled just by looking at them to hard and that .46 hotbodies mill was the most woeful engine I have ever owned. So went out and bought a 3rd, that one I left stock and Had more fun with it than the other 2.Nice lineup bud. Love the smell of nitro in the morning.
